According to The Sky Sports website, it was Sheffield United who ended Huddersfield's unbeaten run.

"Lee Clark - He took Huddersfield on an unbelievable unbeaten run, which was ended by Sheffield United and he got the sack shortly afterwards. "

Hopefully corrected soon. Wouldn't argue with the individuals he picked out, but always feel when listening to Beagrie that any good things said about us were a little begrudging.

this annoys me a lot when people get these things wrong, ive also seen and heard in numerous places that chelsea were completely unbeaten at home under mourinho when we beat them there in the cup

Yep, I noticed they included Rhodes goals frOm the playoffs in his league tally, so I guess those games DO count after all !

    Now I understand.

It was live on TV so dosen't count as losing in the regular league season.

If they go on another long run and beat the last one, will they want to count the playoff games

Looking at their results for the season, they also lost at home against Bournemouth the week after losing to us. Great journalism...

    In that same Sky report:

"and then we saw an epic League One Final between Sheffield united and Huddersfield. It wasn't the best game, but it went to the 22nd penalty and I've never seen a more exciting shoot-out."

Epic snore fest, perhaps. And if he's never seen a more exciting shoot-out, then it seems he doesn't get to see many games.........(Wembley 98, perhaps?)

Well I have sent in a comment, as have a couple more on here, but there is no change to the story and no comments have come up at the bottom of the page! Something tells me they feel somewhat embarrassed by it and won't want to admit no-one bothered proof reading it before publishing

To be fair, that penalty shoot out was right up with the very best for excitement, a glut of misses then a series of scores, with all 22 players taking part. Wasn't Michael Gray's penalty the 14th one? Incidentally, what happens if 1 team is a man down in such a situation where all players take a kick?

the other team have to select a player to not take a penalty, i.e both teams will have 10 penalty takers

I have another question. If their keeper had scored and it carried on, does the same order have to be kept or can they send up one of the players who wellied theirs in even if they went eighth last time?

I believe it has to be the same order, though I'm not sure what would happen if a player managed to injure themselves whilst taking their first penalty, I guess they'd have to take the second injured, or forfeit that penalty if unable to take it

    Thanks

Really stretching reality now, but if during the shootout a player (who's useless at penalties) swears at the referee to get sent off, I was wondering what would happen?
As ever Wikipedia has the answer (probably believable in this case)

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penalty_shoot-out_(association_football)
If it becomes necessary for players to take a second kick (because the score has remained equal after all eligible players have taken their first kick), teams are not required to follow the same order of kickers as was used for the first kick.[5]
If at the beginning of kicks from the penalty mark one side has more players on the pitch than the other, then the side with more players must select an appropriate number of players who will not take part. For example, if Team A has 11 players but Team B only has 10, then Team A will choose one player who will not take part. Players deselected cannot play any part in the procedure: so a goalkeeper cannot be deselected from kicking while retained for saving. This applies whether players are absent through injury or being sent off. The rule was introduced by the IFAB in February 2000 because previously an eleventh kick would be taken by the eleventh (i.e. weakest) player of a full-strength team and the first (i.e. strongest) player of a sub-strength team.[8] However, if a player is injured or sent off during the shoot-out, the same principle does not apply and the referee does not reduce the number of players on the opposing team.[5]
