I have the British Gas Service agreement. For that you get a free service and they come out and fix anything that is wrong for no extra charge. I think it works out at about £20 a month (£240 a year). However, if you cancel the contract after thirteen months (or twelve if you are feeling really cheeky) you can have the second service (they are annual) just before you cancel. That means it works out at £130 per service, and they will fix anything that goes wrong during the year you have the service agreement.
You could also get them out to replace anything that is 'intermittent' just before you cancel - if you know what I mean ;-)
