Last year was +1, '07 was +5. Birkdale in '08 was +3 I think as well, was there that Sunday and it was so bloody windy. Really makes you appreciate how good they are.
It seems to me that the US Open is always tough. The one in New York State a few years ago was a farce, almost like crazy golf.
Bethpage was a couple of years ago and wasn't too bad. Shinnecock in '04 did get silly, they let one green get so dry they had people out there with hoses between groups.
I like it, it's a little closer to how we play golf. I don't see them taking a 3 wood on a par 3 as too big a deal, though seeing it more than once or twice a year would be a bit OTT.
