  • What possible good would that do?

The highest honour yet given to any player from the Premier League era. Thoroughly deserved for Paul who always comes across in a very humble & dignified manner. As mentioned above, it was his loss to Luton rather than Walsh which I felt worse about and would love to have seen what a centre half pairing he would have made with Richard Rufus. Thoroughly deserved upgrade (from his MBE).
Probably wouldn't have been the most harmonious pairing...
  • Fantastic interview on Valley Pass, Paul seems like a great guy very inspirational. I remember watching him and Paul Walsh playing for the colts at Sparrows Lane. Andy Nelson was the manager and he was watching from the sidelines. Paul Walsh actually scored with a lob virtually from the half way line and Nelson took him straight off, no point in wasting that kind of talent with the youth team !
Valley Pass and the use of previous players has really opened my eyes to the treasure trove of history that the club has been stupidly not using properly for many years now. Its just great and Scott Minto is a brilliant professional broadcaster ( as you would expect given his Sky experience)
Full marks to everyone involved. Its a brilliant service now.
  • Am still unsure about Paul Elliot as a person.

    Why ?
  • Enjoyed the interview but there were a couple of things that he got wrong .

I don't remember the Beatles having a concert at the Valley . I suspect he meant the Who . Alan Mullery was the manager when he made his debut not Mike Bailey and it was against Palace at Selhurst not the Valley .

The Beatles certainly did not play at The Valley......The Who did.....twice in fact.

Paul lives in Keston Park. Great bloke who uses very long words out of context.
    He does this often.

  • (Preparing myself to be shot down in flames as this is only my opinion and observation) but feel no affiation towards the guy. Left as soon as he could and is only back working for the club as he's not "legend" enough for the spoilt chelsea fans anymore. Nothing against him getting the CBE though as it seems he's certainly deserves it.
Tbf, the day we picked up the trophy against Hudersfield he was at The Valley.  That day Chelsea were playing in the FA Cup final.
I reckon he's 'big' on us.
