The problem is there will be about 500k thinking the same... from one extreme to the other 2012 in Ukraine with under 10k and 2016 in France with about thirty fold more!

Can't we get a happy medium ;-)

The bidding process for the 2020 UEFA European Football Championship is the process by which the location for the 16th European Championship, commonly referred to as Euro 2020, will be selected. The process officially began on 21 March 2012. The hosts will be announced in late 2013 or early 2014. On 17 April 2012, Turkey became the first candidate to formally express its interest. On 15 May 2012, the Republic of Ireland, Scotland and Wales followed suit with a joint proposal. Joint Georgian and Azeri interest was announced in the following week.
I agree with the fact it may damage the tournament, but it's easy to say that From an English perspective, as we nearly always (bar 2008) qualify for the Euros, but for smaller nations it can be a great opportunity to take part. Plus, some of the nations missing out on this year would be competitive in this years tournament: Norway, Belgium, Turkey, Slovakia, Switzerland, Serbia, Romania etc. would all give a good challenge to many of the teams in this year's Euros. I'm not saying it would be better, but it wouldn't be that uneven, and may add a bit more variety, rather than just the same teams always getting to the finals.

I think the Celtic bid will only involve Scotland and one of the other countries, they all registered together just do they could register it their interest in time whilst they sort themselves out. There's no way UEFA would permitted a 3 nation bid, I think they even said they don't want two nation bids anymore.
To be fair UEFA said they did not want dual nation bids then accepted Austria and Switzerland and then completely ridiculously Ukraine and Poland, UEFA quite literally do what they want!

Very true.
Been to Turkey to watch football before and Istanbulls great, but outside (Bursa for instance) would be a bit mad. I think you're only allowed to use two stadiums from a city (which is where Scotland struggles) so if Turkey hosted a 24 team tournament other than Istanbull you'd be looking at 4/5 other cities.
Would be great to see tournament football in Glasgow & Dublin, the atmosphere would be fantastic but I'd imagine it'll go east after France have it in 2016.

With 24 teams they will be giving the places out like sweets anyway!
