me and my flat mate are looking to purchase a ps3 and im just wondering whether any gamers on here know anywhere where they are selling it fairly cheap at the moment ? we are looking to spend no more that £200
shopto.net have the 320g model for £185 - best price I've seen for that model (and worth the bigger HDD for all the demos etc. you'll probably end up getting)
Tesco, Sainsburys, Game, etc. have PS3s for a similar price to shopto.net but their harddrives are all half the size at that price.
Get a 320gb, buy playstation plus 90 days for 11.99 and download motorstorm apocalypse, little big planet 2, infamous 2 and a couple of other games that I have forgotten all for free. It amounts to over 100 quids worth straight away. Buy fifa 12, cod, skyrim, gran turismo, gta and make sure you have enough controllers, and you are set for at least 3 months!
the reason I bought one recently was that my old one had that yellow light of death. Once they go there are few things you can do to fix them permanently. However, heating them up with a hair drier nd then cooling them down with a fan can make them work for a few weeks. I did a lot of research on all this before I made the decision to bin the old one and buy a new one.
The reason I mention this is that many of the forums and youtube videos claimed that this very short term fix would be enough to fool a retailer (like Game) into buying your machine off you thinking it is working.
For that reason I would recommend against buying a pre owned one from an unknown vendor online. you could buy one that is as good as finished but will give you a couple of months of use. I read of people buying pre owned machines and them breaking after a few weeks and the vendor refusing to replace them or offer a refund as they claimed they were working fine when they were sold.
I'm not casting aspersions on any CL members, but I would, personally, rather pay £190 for a new machine with a guarantee than £100 for what could well turn out to be a disaster.
Regarding the one my son is selling, he's having a re-think about the price - it will be lower than what I have quoted above. He's trying to start up a business doing repairs and refurbishments.

Where does it say that? I haven't lost any games before despite letting my subscription run out? I am talking both free and discounted games as well

I joined PS+ when it first started and it's always been their policy then if you cancel your subscription you lose all free content - the only stuff you keep is discounted games that you've paid money for (albeit with a discount).
