Anyone watching The Tourist season 2?
    I’m two episodes in & it’s a bit bonkers.
Yes, and if anything your summary is a bit understated. I'm enjoying it though.
yeah we are watching at BBC1 pace - not totally sure what is going on !!!!

Just finished Fool me once   8 part drama on Netflix.  Absolutely brilliant.

The fact Michelle Keegan is hotter than the sun is an added bonus
Watched the first episode. Thought the dialogue was pretty wooden to be honest. Hammy at best.
The Coben dramas are very formulaic in terms of  filming style, dialogue and wooden acting (even from some stalwarts!). They are generally quite compelling despite themselves. We just finished Fool Me Once and, unusually for us, didn’t shrug and say “OFFS” at the conclusion as we do with many dramas.
we are about 3 or 4 episodes in.
Glad to hear it is not a 'what the fuck' ending

Yeah, finished it last night. It was OK but nothing more than than. Very ITVish even though on Netflix. The acting doesn't get any better and the end is, again, OK without blowing your socks off. Michelle Keegan's pouty exhaling is annoying. Worth watching but won't live long in the memory.

The Tourist is better but not quite as good as the first series - very funny in places. They've left it wide open for a new series.
  • Over the weekend watched the following:

You Are What You Eat: A Twin Experiment << makes you think about what we are putting in our mouths. Good balanced view.
James may our man in India << if you watched the previous ones you will enjoy this.
  • Really enjoyed the Tourist 2.
  • The Tourist is made by the same people as Boat Story I believe, they both have a bit of humour mixed in with the more gory parts, both are a good watch.

Have seen 3 episodes of The Tourist 2 and think it just as good as the first series.

I go from really enjoying it, to then looking at the car registration plates thinking, ‘where in the bejebus is this supposed to be?’ (I hate it when little things aren’t spot on lol).
But I have to say I’m enjoying the weird Detective aspect more than the main plot tbh 🤣🤣🤣
  • Not sure if there's been much discussion of the latest season of Fargo. I think its been excellent with fantastic perfomances by Juno Temple and Jon Hamm.

Also just started the second season of Julia (Sarah Lancashire in a very different role to Happy Valley - an American TV chef in the early 60s). The first seemed to undeservedly go under the radar, hope this one gets more traction.

Thanks for the tips. Will look out for both of these.  As a fully paid up member of the silly accents club, can I just doff my cap to Minnesota which cleans up spectacularly in that category.
  • Oh, yaah - the Minnesota accept is surely the silliest there is.

I've just watched the first three episodes, which made my blood boil. Thank you for posting a link to the petition, which I've signed.

A great drama and, most importantly, it helps keeps this scandal very much in the public eye.
Surprised it hasn't got its own thread.
Couid have massive implications for Ed Davey and the Lib Dems at the next election.
    How so?
He was minister in charge of the post office during the coalition government, and was also a paid advisor for the law firm that represented the PO. He's blaming the post office for misleading the government but either way it's embarrassing for him
Ok. The system was installed way before they even got into power though. The first court case was in 2006.

This is a classic case of over-ambitIous IT ( which the UK knows a lot about, ask an NHS GP, but the UK is hardly alone) plus a second-rate management (typical of the privatised utilities) which also adopted a bullying culture. None of that is anything to do with Ed Davey. Jesus…
I'm intrigued as to why you single out GPs to emphasise over ambitious IT. Is it something anecdotal that you have picked up, or do you have indepth knowledge of NHS IT?

The Brothers Sun. Netflix. Black comedy with Michelle Yeoh. Great action, very tongue in cheek and just fun.
    8/10
  • John Hannah’s performance in the latest Silent Witness is remarkable (no spoilers here)
apart from the usual SW silliness with the pathologists doing all plod’s work for them
the rest of the writing is great and well worthy of the calibre of guest stars appearing this series

  • 24 hours in Police custody this week featured my home town and a friend was unfortunately one of the victims. One of the most horrific cases they have shown.

Absolutely no winners in these two episodes. I even felt for the 2 pricks that killed them. What a stupid waste of lives the whole affair was.

Not a fan of the smug young copper either.

Egos and gear, my mate was Adam the lad that wasn't even part of it. That young copper was like something out of a cartoon.
  • Saw a great advert on behalf of the Welsh Tourist Board - think it was called Mr Bates versus the Post Office ...

Didn't think was any need for C4 to repeatedly show the guy getting runover if at all. Have read that the families are not happy with how the show handled the whole incident.

And one of the stabbings, absolutely horrific.

The one who interviewed the first guy?  Looked about 12, awful tache.

Horrible story, just showed how ridiculous the stupidity of these sorts of late night stuff, absolutely spot on with egos, tempers and too much of one thing or another.

I feel for you mate. Poor fella only came out for a nosey, albeit he knew them.

The selective patois used by the driver and main cuplrit was ridiculous.

As you say gear plus beer plus week male ego and intelligence equals hell.

Ive been in these situations hundreds of times and seen things nearly as bad as im sure a lot of us have. The older you get the sadder it looks to me.
  • Looking forward to Griselda on Netflix. The fact the hottest woman on planet earth is in it is an added bonus.
