Rumours on the Palace BBS site that they only got Cat 2 despite going to Cat 1.

    Unconfirmed of course.

From the fans forum it seems we have gone for Cat 2 with the plan to go for Cat 1 next year.

Football staff page on OS is now up to date.

Any idea how many more staff we need for category 1? Club said they still have 1 more vacancy.

in terms of the England team the EPPP is good news, top young players will grow up playing with each other like they do in spain and for that main reason alone I think it's a good plan. top premier league clubs will also take more of a punt on a cheap young englishman (particularly with the homegrown player rule and the uefa financial fair play coming in) instead of buying a 6 ft 3 17 year old from Ghana or whatever and developing them instead.

just mention on the CAFC Facebook page, Academy GK coach - Dean Lightwood (running with the Olympic torch). I went to school with Dean - haven't seen him for 27 years!! Was a good goalie who played through the non-league system.
  • Which Level of EPP is Charlton going for , is it Cat 2?

Charlton Athletic are pleased to announce that Hamza Serrar and Danny Senda have been given new roles in staffing changes within the club’s academy structure.

  • "What I would add is that I feel the brand of football our first team plays at the moment is more aligned with our playing philosophy than it has been for quite some time.”

Nice shot at Jackson and/or Bowyer from Steve Avory there.

It's replacing people with people who are already there so maybe a net reduction?

Charlton Athletic are pleased to announce that Danny Senda, Jason Pearce and Chris Lock have been given new roles in staffing changes within the club’s academy structure.

Following the departure of Hamza Serrar, who has moved to become Academy Technical Director at Al Jazira, Senda has been promoted to become Senior Professional Development Phase (PDP) Lead Coach, with a key responsibility of overseeing the technical and tactical development of PDP players aged 17-21.

With Senda taking full control of the U17-21 phase, Jason Pearce will become the U18s' Lead Coach.

Chris Lock, the club’s U16s coach, will assist Pearce with the U18s on an interim basis.

I expected Hamza to move on to a Cat. One Academy, rather than abroad - Certainly not the Middle East. Obvious why it was too good an opportunity to turn down though
