Crystal Palace manager Dougie Freedman has played down speculation suggesting he is poised to sign Leeds striker Ross McCormack.
Reports emerged over the weekend indicating that McCormack could be set to complete a move to the Eagles in a deal believed to be worth around £800,000.
Freedman has now dismissed the stories as premature, although he refused to rule out a bid for his fellow Scot.
"Ross is a fantastic player and I do know him quite well, but it might be a little far-fetched to suggest anything," said Freedman.
He added: "You are never close to a deal until a player puts pen to paper, but we are active in trying to do one or two deals.
"But we have got a bit more integrity in how we do stuff than to discuss it through the papers and we will do our business in the right way."
