Great news but wish we had tried to get Bostwick as well. He's quality and the cm we still badly need.

That would have been amazing if we had signed both Wilson and Bostwick! Not to be....
  • About to happen but hardly exciting championship signing ! No dissrespect to the lad.

@gregstubley3 Contrary to that, having just seen the unsigned contract, I can assure you that he hasn't... (MW)

Stevenage are saying it's a done deal so it's unlikely to be wrong when they announce it as having been completed. Our OS will no doubt catch up soon.

Yeah would have been good to have got Bostwick too, especially as we need a central midfielder and he's dogged whilst also having goal potential with a fantastic shooting range on him, for more of a defensive midfielder.

Wilson's a good signing though. Doom mongerers will point to it meaning Solly is going. But Wilson has played the last 3 years as a right midfielder, so if anyone was to leave as a result it'd probably be Danny Green.

    Or Waggy.

    can not see Green going

I reckon that as Waggy can play both sides (to an extent), finished the season strongly and is probably on less than Green, it would be Green to go. Could be either though. Or neither if it is more about depth, competition and freeing others up for different systems.

Why boring? A promising player who has got better and risen season after season sounds a good signing to me. Look at all Powell's signings. Hard to name one who wasn't either at a 'smaller' club or at a big club but in the reserves - and yet most have proven excellent additions who are now worth more than they were when we signed them.

Gracious comments by the Stevenage Chairman.

I would have liked Bostwick as well, as our centre midfield does need reinforcements

What does it matter if his a 1st team player or not.

It must be almost done or it'd be a massive faux pas on Stevenage's part! That said, I think they did that before when they signed James Dunne from Exeter and Exeter came out and said it wasn't finalised yet.

Wilson would definitely be a first team player. He'll be in the matchday 18 and competing for a starting berth with both or whoever stays out of Green and Wagstaff.

Him signing probably means we won't go back for N'Guessan, as he played more on the right side of midfield than anywhere else. Left for his scoring debut, but otherwise mainly on the right.

Would be nice if we made it a double raid on Stevenage and signed Luke Freeman!

    Stevenage are this seasons Bournemouth.

Didn't make it in the playoffs and unluckily for them everyone is picking off their best players.
  • What is wrong with some people?

We could sign Ronaldo (the metro-sexual not the fat Brazilian) and people would moan.

Let's see what these players can do before we slag them off FFS.

This will be because he is currently discussing terms. As far as Steveage are concerned he's gone, as far as CAFC are concerned he hasn't joined yet. Splitting hairs and unless he does a Zeng Zhi he was be signed by the end of the day.

course it matters...why make signings to this league from the league below that are 'better' than the current player in that position and not start them. This signing...when confirmed...means we will have 3 right wingers. Alternativly it means cover for Solly.
Therfore not a first team player.

he's a Collier Row boy .. same neck o'the woods as Robert Lee. Let's hope he's somewhere near the player for us that Robert was. Welcome Lawrie

Absolutley right. but i havent said anything negative about the player himself...just wish we wouldnt go about signing players from lower league where everyone then says...'hope he does well' or 'yeah he looked good last season'.
IF...its confirmed then great we are on our way to signing players for a weeks but come on...we need to add a bit more excitement
