Heard from a generally extremely reliable source that we're in the closing stages of signing Rennes midfielder Davor Kresnick. Croatian U-21 International, only made a few appearances for the Rennes first team (they're in the top French division), but he's only 20 so plenty of time to be nurtured by Paul Hart and the coaching staff.

Can't speak personally about his performances but the Croatians are no mugs so the fact that he's represented his country leaves me hoping there's more to come!

    If true I wonder who scouted him as it doesn't sound like a Powell signing?

    I found a Slovenian chap on facebook but the surname was spelt Kresnik. :-)

    let's hope he's a Modric in the making .. he doesn't get a mention on the Rennes website
