one of me mates was an olympic torch runner thingy... got some good pics of me with the torch in the pub, great atmosphere and turnout, good day!
  • Amazing coincidence! "Olympic torch coming through the borough!" is exactly what I shout at the moment of maximum passion when me and my missus are having our usual Saturday morning bed gymnastics.

Would that be just as the flame goes out?

Watched it come down Eltham High Street earlier. Big crowds, great atmosphere, everyone was happy and smiling in the sunshine, all in all a nice little trip out. What's not to like?

Yes, a big turnout (ooh err missus) and great atmosphere.

  • Been with it since 5 am this morning was chuffed to bits when it came through woolwich

Just finished at Waltham forest show ground was great to see fabrice muamba do the final stage today

  • Was with it fanny but we are behind the scenes , met fabrice and dizzy today the logistics of getting the torch from a to b

You guys must have seen our vehicles the mini beats and the beat bus

Plus of course the coke caravan lorry

It's a great experience and when it rolls into Hyde park on Thursday it will be the end of what has been the hardest but the most enjoyable 70 days

And the VIP at Hyde park for the concert will be wicked

Not sure mate they tricked me today , made me get to the 02 at 5 am as a fraudulent plea of missing employee due to sickness only to be put in the BMW and drive round all day and being on the lorry, meeting the sponsor runners due to woolwich being my home town

So I may be or I will be back to the installs into venues
  • I have been with it for about twenty days in total every day I have Been amazed at how well received it is but the show has been a real logistical operation it's amazing how much goes into just getting the torch through the towns

To the set up of each city and town celebration even to getting the sample drinks and the beat pads to everyone

  • You with it tomorrow nla ?

    I'll be over Danson

Me too. That's why I was asking.

  • Just up at barnehurst. Loads of people here.
  • Just seen the torch go by , some lad was handing out free bottles of coke as he went past , managed to get one , someone says it makes you run faster?
  • Went down to Watling Street/Shenstone Park, Crayford to watch. Brilliant atmosphere, lovely weather, smiling faces. All over to soon, really enjoyed it. Tickled me when the road went quiet and everyone was expecting the torch. Down the road came a wheelchair adapted Citroen Berlingo. 'Its the Pope' shouted someone as they went past looking bemused at all the cheering and waving.
  • watched it down Barnehurst. the Coke and Samsung coaches were good.

  • I saw it up at Dalston yesterday. Absolutely brilliant, wonderful atmosphere and everybody well behind the games!

Special mention to the police outriders for high fiving people all the way through, great stuff.

Must be a nightmare to organise and all those involved should be very proud.
  • Went and watched it at Crook Log. Kids loved it, loads watching it, just cannot believe how some are moaning about the Olympics, its here and going to be great.

    Well said, sir.
Glad everyone who went has enjoyed it.

  • Those police guys have had to run miles and miles I met a few of them 70 odd days ago and I saw the same guys Saturday all the guys on that relay have worked so hard and maintained such commitment , my drivers ain't been home for 60 odd days and believe me we have tested and pushed them so hard at times I felt like a prize c u next Tuesday with what I have asked but when they step away from the tour they will realise that they were a part of Something truely amazing

On Thursday at Hyde park and the party we will have once the games are over I truely believe they will be very emotional and proud of what they have done

Many negatives about what the games has done for this country but I know that behind the scenes many normal folk have achieved things that they can really be proud of and have earned some real good money and opened doors that will serve them well in the future
  • So the Flames in Lewisham this morning, nothing new there tho, there were flames there last August as well !!
  • What are the many negatives the games?
  • just to say, the Police were brilliant, smiling, high fiving the kids and one motorbike rider let a lady sit on his saddle
  • Oo matron
  • Did it go through Bromley this morning?
