Right Correct Thread now, sorry....Myself, Carter, CafcBourne & I think WSS are all up for meeting up Watford for a few beers for the Early KO. Thing is I have no idea what pub would be user friendly for away fans. Still I suppose we could get all the Hard Nuts from various parts of North Upper to 'Take' any pub we wanted..!
I spoke to one of my clients yesterday who is a Watford fan, he reckons getting to Watford High Street in the best bet as their is a 'shit-ton' of pubs that are away friendly, then again after the last bill I sent him he might just be trying to get me batterd!!
I could give him a call to get more info if needed.
how far is the ground from the high street?
info needed:
actual distance
normal walking speed
actual time required to stagger to ground after consuming a few drinks
So jealous at you lot! I have other plans, i didnt realise how big a game this was gonna be for us all those weeks ago when i decided to make other arrangments! :-( I am getting on it with poor Mortain and our yiddo mate.

So glad you put you are 'getting ON IT' rather than 'getting IT ON' with Mortain & a yiddo mate. Think that could cause quiet a stir in the porno industry..!
Maggies is a legend, it's not your normal run of the mill cafe. it's clean & the food is gorgeous & plentiful & if your cup is empty she'll fill it up to the brim before you know it.
the only problem is getting yourself up & out as you'll be full to the brim & will need a lay down!!!!!!
[cite]Posted By: Stu of SE7[/cite]5-10mins walk apparently
heres a map
red: the high street
green: the station
black: the ground
The High Street is a good 10 minute brisk walk from Watford Junction mainline train station and the ground is 10 mins from the High street.
As i said in another thread, Bushey station is an alternative, and there is a nice pub on the green which is 10 mins away from the ground, but i don't know if it's ok with away fans.
A lot of trains do stop at Watford High Street as well, I seem to remember from the friendly that the walk from the station to the highstreet is not that long at all to be honest
Quick question regarding getting to Watford, would it not be cheaper to get a 1-6 zone travel card and then get an extension on it to Watford Junction or to the High street?
Comments
Still Maggies in Lewisham for 9.30am ain't it?
That's we're expecting your 'crew' to do
apparently so. *gulp*
I did a little guide on my blog because Watford's fiddly to get to, hopefully it won't add to any confusion.
The main thing to remember is that if you're going buy train or tube, don't get an six-zones travelcard because that won't cover you.
I am officially the only 'Non' Hardnut in the North Upper so you'll have to do some recruiting..!

I'll check it out if anyone asks me to.
I don't know if a cab from the junction to the High St is a good option?
Anyway- it will work up a thirst!
www.nationalrail.co.uk - use that to confirm it though. Wont be much to extend the travelcard, check how much the standard return fare is from euston.
