It says Southbound traffic wont be able to cross the level crossing. I take it that they mean coming downhill past the Royal Oak to the main road ? So you can go the other way then ?
If this is a serious post (probably is) then going downhill past the Royal Oak towards the Thames is obviously travelling north.
The River Thames is north of Bromley, Lee, Blackheath, Charlton jeez.
    Sorry, my bad.

Always hate southbound & northbound as directions, especially in London. My brain cant compute that driving towards the Thames is "northbound".......when coming from Bromley  !
Does that mean you've been paying the wrong amounts when you go through the tunnel then?

Didn’t have the same problem when it came to the toll for the new tunnel.

Water and energy bills are privatised companies.

This is going to be a proper ball ache visiting my mum in Hickin Close.
What plans do they have for the next turning at the roundabout (Gallon Close/Ransom Way).

They are reversing the driving direction on that roundabout so you need to remember to give way to your left now

Surely a better solution would be to put in traffic lights so it could be filtered to allow the cars to turn left.

Surely a better solution would be to ban cyclists.

Highway works are likely to be funded by parking charges and fines. In theory, it is unlawful to spend any surplus from that on other unrelated services, which means there is often scope for such schemes even if there are more pressing priorities in other council services. You can spend parking fines on potholes, but not on social care, for example.
