B Rob i saw dear down near there early in the morning good few years back. Thought we might get a gun have a pop but now i hear Bob Crows been seen we should DEFO get the gun and get down there.
It was the bum job on the whole railway. They tricked brand new starts in to applying for a job in there as it was one grade off the bottom and once you were in there it took drastic action to get out of there! Serious medical problems, mental breakdowns and getting that pissed that you passed out and the trains were backed up and the police had to kick the door down were used in the mid/late 80s to get out of the place! You lapsed in to such a coma the chavs would have had to torch the place for you to notice. As I say I wasn't there much but it did your nut inside an hour, press button and the siren goes,12 blasts, gates go down, pull lever to lock and lever for signal.Train goes by,process in reverse with out siren.Repeat 8-20 odd times an hour.Add loads of vocal abuse from the motorists.Added to the fact it was about the size of a dog kennel! A dream job! Must be worse now as there are more off peak trains! Nurse bring me my medication now!!!!!!!!!!!
Was that the bloke with the rather flamboyant hair cut or a tall lad with a mod haircut? There was a woman working there as well, they were permanent the other shifts were covered by anyone who had unfortunately been trained to the box and didn't hide quick enough.I didn't do it much as you had to be 18 and I moved on a month after turning 18.
Work to extend the segregated Cycleway 4 to Woolwich has begun this week, with drivers and bus users warned of delays until early 2027 while construction takes place.
When finished, there will be an almost-continuous traffic-free route from Tooley Street, near London Bridge, to the Woolwich Ferry
Southbound traffic will be banned from using the Charlton Lane level crossing to reduce the number of cars crossing the cycle lane there

An absolute joke, you won't be able to get to most of Charlton from Woolwich Road coming from Woolwich, you'll have to turn left way back at Prospect Vale, or wait until you get to Charlton Church Lane.
Combine that with if you're coming from Greenwich side there's no right turn into Charlton Church Lane so you have to go past and come around the roundabout to turn left, however due to the extent of the works I won't be surprised if the roundabouts are closed off for a while, meaning you'll be shepherded all way down to Woolwich unless you turn early at Victoria Lane, which has a width restriction.
Some of these roads are bad enough as it is without roadworks on them, it's going to be absolute carnage
It says Southbound traffic wont be able to cross the level crossing. I take it that they mean coming downhill past the Royal Oak to the main road ? So you can go the other way then ?

Southbound is the uphill direction, it means no uphill traffic allowed across the level crossing.

That is a mad decision. It makes no sense to restructure cars for the very few cyclists who will gain next to no benefit either.
O
We have better things to spend money on surely.
They seemed to find the money to put down road markings & sign posts about the new parking restrictions on Welling way & Rochester way, but couldn’t do anything with the moon craters on either on those roads.
so they have increase my rent, service charges, council tax, energy bills. water bills to pay for this shit !! and in the meantime I am restricted on where i can go and park my car and what time of day I can go out. Money grabbing barstewards

If this is a serious post (probably is) then going downhill past the Royal Oak towards the Thames is obviously travelling north. The River Thames is north of Bromley, Lee, Blackheath, Charlton jeez.

Sorry, my bad.
Always hate southbound & northbound as directions, especially in London. My brain cant compute that driving towards the Thames is "northbound".......when coming from Bromley !
