Palace deserved to win ... I hate saying it , they brought good support , even if they did let off the flares. If we'd won we would be the ones celebrating now, we all gave it the big 'un before the games and we lost , one of those things

Bitter pill to swallow, but they beat us. Lots of if onlys, the biggest being the injury to Wiggins, but they beat us pretty much all ends up tonight, we were second best nearly everywhere.

Woeful display ... And apart from zaha they are not that good ...what happened to the team that played so well against Leicester

Zaha was the standout player , they were organised , i thinknleicester was one of those games where it goes your way , tonight was the opposite

We managed to make a very poor team look good. Manager clueless with changes again.

Agree and disagree. Yes to the no midfield, but CP made the right changes at the right time today.

How can a team so full of confidence last season be so shit this? Yes, I know we have gone up a level, but to abandon free flowing football for the long ball is shocking!

Agree with the main thrust of the posts above. We were outclassed tonight - if they are relegation fodder it's going to be a long hard season for us.

Have to say I thought Solly was f**king quality tonight though.
  • Starting line up for next game ?

Midfield is a huge concern. Total lack of pace, strenghth or quality.

This league is a big step up and so far no one in midfield looks like they can make the step up.

Lets pray someone on the board wins the lottery and we can bring in a midfielder or two.
  • Thought the changes were as expected.

Midfield was poor and we subbed 2 of them. Defensive change was forced on us and the obvious change was made. Solly did a lot better against Zaha then Wiggins did. Good chance for Ceddy now to get a proper run in the team for the first time if Wiggins is out for a while.

As stated above, the midfield is the real issue.

Jackson and Pritchard don't look to be Championship material against the teams we have played so far. Stephens definitely is and Hollands is a maybe.

So need some width in the team and I don't expect both of Pritchard and Jackson to be playing in the next games. I would like to see Green and Kerkar giving a starting place or at least one of them.

BWP worked his socks off tonight and is really staking a claim for his place with Fuller breathing down his neck. Yann needs to step up his game or he will be the one to drop down to the bench.

Wilson - yikes. Not that impressed so far but early days.

It's going to be a tough year, but we'll be alright.

I was hoping more for euro millions
  • Thought Powell made the right subs but needs to spruce the team up from the start. Green looked hungry and Wilson put in the effort though decision making was questionable

Why didn't he just start with the team that finished at Forrest?

I think he'll need to try and work out how our player of the last few seasons (Jackson)has become one of (if not the) weakest so far this season.

Wilson is not a good player, a lot worse than our starting xi, solly was absolutely class tonight though, thought the switch to the left would really unsettle him but it showed what a great player he is.

Pace of the championship we've seen in recent games how quick players like Zaha and Bolasie are, jacksons nowhere near that

Probably not quite Wiggins injury does not look to clever.
  • No width tonight and bringing on Green was too late.

Palace tactics we're spot on and they scored a great goal.

    totally gutted. I hate Palace.
  • Very poor tonight and deserved to get beaten! Time for Jackson and Pritchard to be replaced by Kerkar and Green but I can see the same line up for next game apart from any injuries.
  • Very bad performance. They looked tired and lethargic after a two weeks rest. Most of us had palace down as one of the worst squads in the champ yet they looked at least a league above us. Can't help feeling disappointed that they weren't up for it - was sure Powel would make certain of it.

What do we expect though with no money?

wilson was AWFUL. completely bottled it every time he got the ball. hospital balls all over the shop. bwp, cort, solly were good, the rest defo looked way way out of their depth
