A nice plate to put the cucumber sandwiches on when you invite us all round to celebrate winning the championship in the near future. Well done Carl. Nice spot.
So presented to the Club by the Supporters Club to mark our 2,500th league game and yet I'm the only one disgusted that this has ended up being sold for profit by some oil on eBay. How did this ever get out of the possession of the Club?

'This unique item was bought at a charity football auction many years ago, and has been the centre piece to my entire Charlton collection'

Who said it was for profit? It made under 60 quid. Don't suppose there was a lot of profit in it.
Were you also disgusted that Mendonca sold his stuff? Or that 1947 Cup Winners medals come up for sale?
I take LargeAddick's point to an extent. The club should be cherishing these sorts of items.
There were lots of stories when we moved out of The Valley in 85 about the offices being full of programmes etc. My guess is that things that were not deemed 'worth' taking to Selhurst were not and some of these have fallen into the hands of private collectors one way or another.
Having picked the item up last night I can assure everyone this was not sold by its owner as a profit making exercise (he was very sad to see it go) and it certainly has not been bought to make a profit.
It is a great piece and will feel very much at home in the memorabilia room.
I must get round to putting some pictures up of some of the more interesting bits I have.
I believe as a Charlton piece of memorabilia it is worth more than I paid for it. I was prepared to pay a little bit more for it at this time (end of month syndrome :-( ). But if it had gone higher and I had the money to hand at the time I would have gone over £100 I think.
Thanks for you honesty CL .. you've got a bargain. I'm not a great sentimentalist or souvenir collector but I would be proud to own such a nice piece of nostalgia

Well done Carl, I was bidding as well and it looks like you beat me by a £1.00, but I'm glad it went to a fellow supporter rather than one of those rip-off memorabilia merchants. I too was surprised there wasn't more interest but just occasionally things slip under the radar and don't attract the attention you'd imagine they'd get. Perhaps CL could consider presenting the next 'landmark' trophy. Enjoy.
A friend is selling some 1947 FA Cup Final memorabilia on eBay and asked me if I'd give it a plug here as he doesn't have an account: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154341566037

keeping looking at them and meaning to buy one, but prefer the more unique pieces.
