Don't You Wish We Were "Massive"?

Well think again 'cos the issue with being "massive" is that your problems are magnified out of all proportion.

But one draw and seven defeats from the last eight games is "massive" ;-)

I've got a lot of time for Wednesday.

Their fans have had some rough times lately, just like us.

They got big attendances in a pub league.

They are new to this division, but like us they have a good manager and they will be ok.
  • I wish even more that operation pig would come on here and tell us all how his teams new signings are doing adn how is club are getting on this season, seem to recall he was always on here giving us an update when the wendies had won a few games, dont see enough of the guy now,its a real shame.
  • To be fair he's not a bad bloke, makes some decent points, agree with VG, Many Wednesday fans are ok and they have a great fan base, just ashame they have some right dickheads too and can't accept defeat

the guy was a full on bell end if he was such a decent poster he would be coming on now after however many defeats not just when his team are above in the table or have made a loan signing,he is clearly a WUM,and i for one am glad of the turn his team have had.

Can't blame him , that's what many people would do
  • pig ? bit of a cross between ok & wind up merch, certainly giving it every time they signed another star player, not been on here for a while tho to give an "honest" appraisel of how they're doing has he ?
  • We've played 10 games. If we are gonna give it can we atleast wait till we are safe?

Oh please, where's the fun in that? That's like backing Frankel in a seller!

I'm all for largin it when necessary but why sheff wed when we got millwall and palace in our league? The fascination with them is creepy.

Don't u like the input of other supporters on here? He's hardly a pest is he? Sometimes he talks sense
  • My daughter went to her first ever match today......at Hillsborough! Iknow she could have come to Blackpool, but didn't want to, she'll learn hopefully, i'm not giving up. Her mates are Wendies. Anyway their supporters were streaming out when Hull scored late on. When they are doing well, their manager is loved. When they are losing i think he is in trouble. To anyone that has ever listened to 'Praise or grumble' on Radio Sheffield on a saturday after a game, you will know what a fickle bunch supporters can be. I fear the knives will be out for Megson before long. It's a shame forthe club because he is a legend there.

I so hope Powell doesn't ever end up in this position.
  • Do you mean jones pep. The knifes were out for megson last season.

Makes me cringe when one group of football fans accuses another group of being fickle. Have you read any of the threads on here lately?
  • They certainly are fickle, and Jones doesn't have the connection with the club that Megson had. Megson had them playing dire football, out-muscling a lot of smaller teams but not even being the best at that - Stevenage are a very physical team and they murdered Weds 5-0 - but he got by for a while on the back of their affection for him. Jones doesn't have that going for him and they've already turned. You get the feeling that if you did well for them you'd be the most beloved manager around but the second the form goes for a while you're toast. That's a lot of pressure for any manager to deal with - maybe why they've found it so hard to return to the lofty position they reckon they deserve

I was on a site last year when we were in League One and their supporters were always calling them "Massive"
I'm begging you, I am absolutely BEGGING you, please don't start this again!!

This is the type of thing that will come back and bite you, I wouldn't be getting so cocky
  • Nothing better than listening to Charlton player whilst reading Wendies match thread...bloody marvelous I tell you.
  • They dont seem to happy with Semedo at the moment, and manager none too happy with Mr Llera......SHAME!
  • Yeah, I noticed that Llera hadn't been included recently.. I thought he was a true world beater?!
  • Looked on there yesterday

Thing that stood out was the comments about Jose

    " offers little going forward"

    " sits too deep "

"Needs to offer more to the attack"

Never agreed with them when he was here but history seems to be repeating itself
  • Fans need to be patient, I remember some Palace fans moaning about Friedman and Lennie after 3 games of the season, and look at them now...
  • The best bit was something I read earlier on after seeing this thread; they were complaining about their strikers and amongst the strikers that someone had seriously suggested were Heskey, and our very own Bradley Wright-Phillips. Made me laugh considering how we were scared that we'd end up with Heskey after the Johnny Jackson/Ben Hamer joke tweets, and how some of us aren't happy with Bradley Wright-Phillips.

They really aren't a happy bunch are they?

I agree about patience though, it's easy to forget that the fans over in Croydon were worried about relegation a few games in to the season!
  • Their new look site is ok though much better than last seasons effort
