Biased Football Fans

Feel I need to get this off my chest:

Liverpool fan view: Suarez is not a diver, Evra is to blame for last season, Refereeing decisions against them hence why they did so rubbish last season.

Chelsea fan view: Cheryl Cole is to blame for the break up between her and Ashley Cole, John Terry is not a racist and Anton Ferdinand is to blame.

Honestly, as much as I love Charlton I am not a biased supporter. When we lost to Palace even though I felt we were robbed with the goal that never was, Palace were a better team. My Palace mates started on me but I felt I had to put my hands up and say they were the better team.

I feel any football supporter who is totally biased about their team is not worth bantering about because they just get angry and serious over the most little dig I make about their team. Football get's far too political for some people.

Rant over! lol

  • I know a Arsenal supporter like that, when they lost the Carling cup final I started bantering with him about it and he got really angry and said the amount of money they would have earnt from it would not be worth it it is a worthless cup and the tv revenue is not worth it so I said you wouldn't have celebrated if you won he had no response to that.
  • Hahaa i love biased football fans.

My mate tried to claim winning the FA cup was better than winning the League (Chelsea fan) he might have been half joking though

Countless Charlton fans claim Semedo is crap despite the fact that he was our player of the season.
  • In my experience, Liverpool fans seem to be the most biased towards their team

Funny you should mention Liverpool because I think thats the case. I think the fact Liverpool are doing crap at the moment and the fans are not used to doing rubbish based on Liverpool's history so their own pride gets to them. I think it's the same for all of the big clubs though.

Name me one Gillingham, Palace or Millwall fan who is not biased towards their team like these glory hunters are?

  • " palace mates " - an oxy moron if I ever heard one.
  • Lol

Big talk in the terraces about the why's and wherefores of the Cole marriage break up.

    Do me a favour.
  • you must have some creepy mates disco
  • Arsenal fans are the worst in my experience, their players rarely do anything wrong, the ref never favours them, they haven't spent any money, players only leave them for money nevers for honours... I could go on.

Also, they have never heard of any league outside of the top division and wouldn't know a club called Hereford even existed.
  • you only have to look on here for the teardrops and the worlds against us when things aren't going right

and the denial of us being absolute dog pooo and relegation certs was bizarre to say the least in our fall from prem to league one

From my experience I find Arsenal the worst fans when it comes to wearing the old blinkers.

I do too, awful biased fans.

couldn't agree more I have three mates all Gooners and never talk about any other team. They ask me about Charlton I draw breath and before any words come out they are on about Arsenal and don't stop. Along with Liverpool the most one eyed supporters in the country
  • I find my preference on who I would rather see do well the premiership is usually dictated by things like the attitude of fans and other off the field influences.
Because I don't care THAT much, I find my preferences often change.
For example, I want Liverpool and Arsenal to do badly for the reasons stated by so many here, but I've mellowed in recent seasons to Man Utd and Spurs, so don't mind them. I can see Man City annoying me in the future, but they're still fairly inoffensive and I like to see Chelsea fail just because of John Terry and Ashley Cole (this is from long before this racism row - I just think they're loathsome.)

I also take great delight in any failure on the part of West Ham due to the sheer number of nobheads that support them.
  • Liverpool are undoubtedly the most biased. Never heard one be actually honest about the performance of there team. They are always making excuses for Stevie G. Arsenal supporters are just living in denial.
  • Arsenal - the most biased fans. I cant talk to my arsenal mates about football.
  • Yeh defo Arsenal being the worst closely followed by Liverpool
  • Liverpool and Arsenal are the worst, and for me and this is only my PERSONAL opinion, Man Utd seem to be the best, probably cos they are confident that they are a good team rather than having to whine on about it.
  • I've got a Chelsea mate who is without doubt the most biased football fan I have ever met, almost to the point of mental illness. Incredibly easy to wind up, but can be annoying as he will go so far as to deny established facts. After one heated exchange he just started shouting 'Arsenal have never beaten Chelsea!' over and over while I was trying to speak.
  • Someone recently told me they were an Arsenal fan and I told them I had never heard of them, insisted I had not come across them before.

He then proceeded to try and convince me that they existed, where they played, who played for them etc but I just insisted it was all news to me - he gave up and seemed very worried for me.

  • Liverpool by a mile on the biased front, ' if we didnt hit the post soo much we would be challenging for the primiership' , also moan about underachieving when exactly were they good? ages ago stop living in the past

  • spurs fans are always a bit biased, mainly on football phone ins. them and the cabbies who always support west ham make people from london sound like right prats.
  • the liverpool fans i know are finally coming round to the fact they are crap

arsenal fans generally havent got a clue

    spurs fans are just helmets

in a way i feel sorry for man utd fans. they will never get the true feeling of the ups and downs of being a real football fan.

only chelsea fans i know are part times
  • Did you honestly have a mate who is a Chelsea fan and claimed that Cherly Cole was responsible for the break up? I can't say that me and my mates have ever discussed who is to blame for the breakdown in celebrity marriages.
  • I almost forgot about West Ham fans. They seem to hate anyone who has ever played for them or managed them who has moved on elsewhere!!
  • I noticed that my mates who support Chelsea, Spurs and Ars*nal used to know a fair bit about Charlton, but recently seem a bit flakey about us, i.e. little facts like what division we're in and who manages us! Makes you realise how blinkered a lot of 'Premiership fans' are - they have no concept of the lower leagues.
  • Surprised you log on here if thats your attitude.
Check out the score predictions for our games.

Ps I am probably the worsted.
  • Were you replying to my post Absurd? If so, I have no idea what you're on about. Actually, whichever post you are replying to I have no idea! ;-)
  • Well he thinks that he's a piece of cloth so I doubt his sanity.
  • Majority of football fans that go to matches round here, that I know, are Chelsea - bloody awful. They are so glad for 'chels' that Terry the saint has given up on England (so am I for different reasons), Cashly is an angel and the years of hatred towards Gerrard and refusal to acknowledge that he is better than Lampard, conspiracy re Barca...on and on they go - do my head in. Know nothing, care nothing about Charlton (no recollection of the play off battle)

Haha brilliant, gotta try that one one day. Also agreed that man utd fans are the ones of the "big four" that tend to know their football and are less one eyed. One mate whos man utd regularly goes to watch brentford when hes at uni and exeter when hes back at home. my best mate is also man utd and regularly asks about charlton and had recently expressed an interest in going to the valley. Probably because they know as long as fergie is there they'll always be there or there abouts.

Arsenal fans do my nut in though "it's so hard being an arsenal fan, you don't realise" is said far to many times by acquaintances of mine who follow arsenal. Can't stand any "fan" that immediately after hearing the name of a club outside the sky four/five says "oh they're shit!".
