Good for him. He can collect his excessive wages each week, while he tweets and plays football. But in the real world not everyone can afford to pay £25 each week to turn up.

Dont really see much wrong with that interview personally. He's acknowledged that affording football is difficult hence the 5 quid offer is good, and I think everybody would like to see 20,000 plus at the Valley every week. He's not having a dig at anybody personally.0

He's right about ticket prices, and 20,000 at the Valley isn't a massive thing to ask for0

I was really disappointed with the attendance for the Palarse match. I know it was on the telly but surely you'd want to be at the ground for this one.0

I think he's got a point. One of the biggest impacts on the club since our fall from the prem has been our fall in attendances. This expansion of the north stand has also added to the sparseness of crowds at the valley.0

The great work of the community scheme, schools offers and ability to get in floating fans at reasonable pricing has over the years massaged the figures hugely and gives the impression to those who are not ingrained fans like ourselves that we are a bigger club than what we actually are.0

Weren't Ipswich charging £30+ in the away end last month? That is ridiculous in my view, nobody should have to pay more than £25 to watch any Championship match and there should be a £35 cap for any Premier League fixture as well.
As Ben says, Crawley were charging £18 for Conference football when he was on loan there as a youngster. That is obviously far too much for non-league. IMO there should be a £10 limit on non-league.

I think it is a good interview and that if we put a run together - 20k is realistic for this season. Also not sure the league helps - There should be one home game followed by one away game- putting two home games on consecutively means that some fans will pick and choose. Midweek games create a great atmosphere but are generally not as well supported- so these should be kept to a minimum/cup games - even if that means extending the season.0

I think our attendances are more or less what you would expect. Not everyone is born and bred Charlton till I die and for five years more and more people decided they didn't want to watch the sh*t being served up at the Valley. Fair enough, we all hope for increasing numbers and good for Ben putting his shoulder to the wheel to encourage people to come along. We haven't got the worst turnout and we'll never have the best.0

Good honest interview.
Dan my middle lad met Hamer at Bluewater in the week, got the picture and asked Hamer how he feels about playing for us, Hamer said he absolutely loves it here and never wants to leave, he thinks everything about the club is fantastic.
I know he would say that, but Dan reckons he was honest and sincere.
I like Hamer's attitude, top fella in my book!0 -

If you put out good players playing attractive football, or at least showing that they want to play for the shirt, and challenge for promotion, you will fill the Ground every week. If you don't you won't. The interest of supporters ranges from ' die hard, come every time and always will ', and ' this game should be good, I'm going ' and everything inbetween. Money is a hard item to get hold of this day, so nobody throws it around willy nilly. Like any other company we have to sell our product, and by and large I think we do pretty well.0

I especially agree with Hamer about non league football, it amazes me how little difference there is in price between watching Charlton and L2/Conference football. My nearest club now is Barnet, they're cheapest season ticket is £304!0 -

If things continue improving then we the attendances will follow. I think the crowds are decent for where we are at the moment and considering the dross we've had to put up with over the last few years we did pretty well. Certainly better than most teams our size would (especially certain neighbours).
Maybe Hamer thinks we're a little bigger than we actually are as a club......He doesn't post on here does he?0 -
