Old newspapers

Im trying to get a copy of a newspaper from december 15th 2011 for a christening and have looked online and seen that it is really expensive on the sites I have looked at, has anyone tried this as well and had anyluck with a hidden gem somewhere?

most LAs have libraries where you maybe able(assuming they aint been closed)to photocopy the paper. If its a local one.
If its a national you may be able to go to The British Library paper and mag section at Collingdale.

You can sometimes get lucky by googling the paper and / or name.

Otherwise go via the library as GH says. They often have microfilmed or fiched copies and for about a £1 or even less in some places you can print out a copy of the relevant page.
