A number of black players will be refusing to wear the kick it out tee-shirts this weekend, as they feel the whole kick it out campaign has done nothing to stop rascisim or prevent it in England. The Ferdinand brothers have both said they will not be wearing the shirts this weekend. As we are and were heavilly involved in this campaign what do we think? I can see the players minds you just have to look at John Terry, a 4 game ban for using a racist term towards a fellow player was a complete joke. Jason Brown our ex keeper was on SSN yesterday and he was so angry with the kick it out campaign saying they are in with the FA and just a joke what he said was passionate and bang on "Wearing a tee shirt once a year is a joke". I would not be suprised if we see a few of our players deciding not to back the campaign. Jason Roberts has just added his views and why he and a number of players will not wear them.
I spoke to a Kick it out person a couple of weeks ago and they said that Charlton was not really involved (despite our club maintaining that it was based on our red white and black days) and he said that the club had had very little input. Charlton was one of the only FA league teams that he didn't have a poster for. Although he did say they had been hosted by the directors once this season he was very derogatory about what our club has and does do.
That surprises me but maybe because the club have got their own thing going on with C.A.R.E. that they don't get so involved?
I was told recently that in November Sir Herman Ouseley is coming to the Valley with members of the PFA, FA and league representatives to celebrate 20 years of Charlton's Race and Equality scheme. With the Kick it Out campaign stalling they are coming down to the Valley to let the wider football world know that there is an initiative that it is working.

Seems like a bit of a dickhole. After all we have a fair bit of diversity amongst our attending support and a number of black people in key management positions. What would have impressed your chum? A nicer lunch?
Given his organisation is getting widespread rejection from the people that it was set up to represent, suggests they might be a little out of touch.
