Do £5 tickets work?
By the way the game was not a great advert for Charlton and our midfield was very unbalanced and a couple (no names but we all know who they are) are clearly out of their depths. Razak is a great prospect for the future with City, but didn't deserve his place today.
What do others think of the price promotion?

If I took the offer on and didn't have a st I wouldn't go again0

Price promotion great idea ...but agree atmosphere was very flat and disappointing0
-
Have to say the atmosphere was very average, Watford on a wet Tuesday night seemed much better.0
-
Yes, they work. Can't see the atmosphere being better in front of 15,000. If we had scored or come really close to scoring it might have lifted the CAFC noise levels.0
-
It never works. We always lose and the atmosphere is poor. We get people who don't go and who sit through the game moaning. If rather has less fans and more support0
-
Good to see over 26,000.0
-
We always lose except when we beat Chesterfield and Stevenage on the last two times we've done it?
That's just football for you.0 -
Not true. This is the fifth promotion and we had won three and lost one of the first four.ljm29 said:It never works. We always lose and the atmosphere is poor. We get people who don't go and who sit through the game moaning. If rather has less fans and more support
The atmosphere was a little flat, but we didn't out perform the opposition like we did in League One.
If you are going to make such condescending comments, have the decency to check your facts!0 -
Of course it worked - we got 10,000 more people in the ground than we would otherwise.
How anyone can suggest that it didn't/doesn't work is laughable. Nothing the price promotion can do about the result.0 -
Loads of kids (and parents) walking round the back of the East Stand with their brand new CAFC clobber on.
Long may it continue.0 -

What would the attendance have been for this game if we hadn't done Football For A Fiver?0
-
Good to see kids wearing CAFC stuff, atmosphere was poor but then again there wasn't anything to cheer about on the pitch0
-
The aim of the promotion isn't to raise noise levels, it's to get bums on seats for the game.
So yeah, it works.0 -
Wonder how the revenue generated compares to a game with a "normal" admission....0
-
It kills the atmosphere dead. Many people I know dont usually sit in their seats but all move up and sit together, all singing etc. But you can't do this when its full, (i know you should all buy your st's next to eachother to get around it) and the singing is more subdued. Didn't really help that we played hoofball nothingness and our 5 man midfield played really narrow and still got overran though tbh.
Remember 10,000 £5 tickets is only 2,500 £20 tickets, so I expect most of the revenue we gain is from merchandise etc.0 -
Yeah, it worked alright. I don;t know if you noticed, but the ground was packed. Unfortunate that the team had a stinker today, but that can happen at any game.
Of course there's always going to be a number of freeloaders that don't come back, but I reckon that somewhere in that crowd will be a handful that get hooked. Good luck to them.
Did anyone else see the Chelsea nutter in the North Lower before the game? Shouting at the tv, oblivious to the fact that he was the only one who gave a toss about it.0 -
Worse than very flat imo, from the NWQ i could hear Barnsley throughout the game.stonemuse said:Price promotion great idea ...but agree atmosphere was very flat and disappointing
What to do though?0 -
Not sure about the financial side of things?0

The ticket revenue today will have been higher than it would have been at full price. Easily.sam3110 said:It kills the atmosphere dead. The question is what can the club do to improve the atmosphere on match days?0

Over 26k against barnsley in division 2 proves that this and all the other schemes over the years work.0
-
The crowd won't do it though, so the club may have to step in.PL54 said:

Unless we ban prawn sandwiches into the ground?0 -
atmosphere will never be great down the valley, our vocal support is too far from the away fans. players need to put in a shift though if we are going to.0

we have one of the most quiet crowds in the leagues ,embrace it ,live it.0
