    Star Wars - decent film, ground breaking.

    Everything else in the series since - absolute bollocks.

    Empire strikes Back was pretty decent. The rest were utter bobbins

    Not sure what the new films would be. There is a series of novels by Timothy Zahn that are set a few years after Return of the Jedi and that are infinitely better written than any of Lucas's films were. If they could be made into films they could be utterly superb. The only downside is that they use most of the original cast (Han, Luke, Leia etc) and clearly that would be a problem as they are generally in their mid 50's or older by now. I think it would need to be recast with new actors but that is not necessarily a bad thing.

    Above all else though, they must never, ever, EVER allow George Lucas to write or direct them.
