  • plaaayer, is it ok if i cheekily pretend (in my head) that you sing "the further you take my saveloy" then i'll wholeheartedly sing back to you "the faster i will run" i'll fricking piss myself?
  • The thread has taken a nasty turn
  • Match thread will be doing the 'silent and written version'... from now on....cant change our winning formula ;-)
  • @bloodnut either you're going to take this seriously or you're not. If its the later then I'd prefer if you didn't come on Sunday.
  • i never meant any offence to ya plaaayer (hang my head) and while im rightly backpedaling for my mocking behaviour, well, solly nolly too.

i swear to sing the right words and nuffing but the right words, so help me chris powell.
  • Sometimes I wonder why we bother
  • Yep but my tunic has the badge on it

    Charltonisation starter for five ...

The higher you build your barriers You'll find us by the Thames Barrier
The taller I become The Valley is our home
The farther you take my rights away You can take the 472 bus
The faster I will run From the Millennium Dome
    You can't deny me
You can decide to turn your face away The chance to laugh at the Palace Ultras
No matter, cos there's.... We are Charlton and there's ....
    Something inside so strong
I know that we can make it
    When things are going wrong,
    so wrong
You thought that my pride was gone
Oh no, something inside so strong
Oh oh oh oh oh something inside so strong

I gave it a go pub karaoke last night and some bits just don't quite go

That's a concern Bourne. Meet outside the away end on Sunday for a couple of practice runs? I hate to think we'll make idiots of ourself by getting it all wrong.........

Want video/pic evidence....or at least an eye-witness account.

Only just seen this thread SISS is one of my favourite songs.I think it would be brilliant as a football anthem.

Building on Salad's lyrics and giving it a historical perspective about the Valley :

The further you took our ground away
    The stronger we become
You'll find us by the Thames Barrier
    The Valley is our home

    You can't deny me
You could not take our home away
    We're Charlton and theres..

    Somethin Inside so Strong
I know that we will make it
    When things are going wrong
You thought that our club was gone
oh no there's something inside so strong
  • I may try and slip the song title into the commentary tomorrow
  • Richard j winner

Best yet - like the history and the fact it will be a little easier to sing.

Laminated song sheets next home game?

    That'll be good Pete
  • Having re read the thread.

I also like Gilbert's suggestion that Something inside so strong is changed to Something inside Charlton.

Noooooo! Step too far. Your earlier effort was spot on. Now go to the back of the class :-)
  • I can see us picking up the words, but how are we going to choreograph after 'strong' the two beats to the heart, point to heavens, headshake and clap ?

Perhaps we can make it a competition on the match thread. The first person to quote you when you say is the winner.
  • Your a pisstaker one you are

Your not taking this seriously smudge are you

Go stand with the other non believers
  • I haven't any time to take it seriously pal, I'm up to my neck in it organising Palace away for after they sell their star player.

The thousands of Addicks aren't going to rework the Tracey Chapman classic "You had a fast Zaha" without some serious effort.
  • Ask richard j for some help mate

I got my man utd mate to start doing it at two down

    This is going global
