A rare Tuesday night game where I couldn't make it along and I certainly missed out on a night to remember.....gutted but equally over the moon for all involved on the pitch and in the stands. Love it when The Covered End's buzzing, and think there's no better place to enjoy The Valley at its best. Sounds like the players fed off it too and put in a real Charlton performance (complete with dodgy defending and last-minute attempt to chuck a lead away too!). Set against the current uncertainty and unrest (perceived or otherwise) last night was much needed
Cheers for all the comments everyone. For the record, I sat behind dugout last night and from there it sounded like 'red army' not 'red and white army'
Great article! Take note the club's board, remove Powell at your peril, the fans are united, and as shown in our history we'll win. Sorry couldn't help myself got all emotional, coyrs!
I thought when the fans were singing "in-ger-land, in -ger-land, in-ger-land " it was louder than when we sang any Charlton songs ...... Maybe the lyrics to that one are a bit easier for our fans !!
It is red and white Greenie, your not a Johnnie come lately are you I thought you were old school.
NSS - I am a confirmed old fart, but I've been converted to Red Army, I guess as someone else said its the speed of the chant and so White has been dropped. I just cant keep up at my age! ;o)
Might be to you. But to me and most it is red army - can't fit red and white in!
How the hell do you scan red army in?? It's Chrissie Powell's Red and White Army, just as it was Lennie Lawrence's Red and White Army, and Steve & Alan's Red and White Army. Red Army is a completely different chant.

I dont think the majority have a problem, most people say 'red army'!
