I don't think we're gonna get much/too bad. This weather is coming from the north and usual it's fizzled out by the time it gets to us...

Its when it comes from the east that the south East get it bad....

The rain is from the southwest but the cold air is from the north and that is the forecasting problem. Watch the cold air come south here. Warning - don't leave the webpage running on a mobile !

As for your last comment about when it comes from the east .......

What's a good website to follow accurate weather @Hex

And what should we be expecting when in Sunny Sidcup ? (other than a better quality of snow to fall in comparison to Welling)
  • I have to leave for Torquay at 04:30. Hope it's not too grim.

If you go to the link I gave above and zoom the map to show whole of UK you will see readings from Personal Weather Stations (PWS). PWS, like mine, are not to Met Office standard, at least not location wise, but they will be using accurate sensors and importantly update that map every few seconds. So you can get a picture of how the cold weather is moving south and turning rain to snow (switch on the radar). Later on you can zoom in and more PWS will appear.

Regarding Sidcup, I don't venture there from Hextable for obvious reasons unless I really have to.

If you are watching the map then switch the Weather Stations reading to Dew Point. This is a better indicator of likely snow than temperature. Once it gets near or below freezing then snow should be expected.

No snow where I live since 2010.

But, as usual, it's been raining all morning in Sunny Cornwall.
Fairly mild at around 8 degrees.

Except in the last hour the temperature has plummeted to 4 degrees.
No that's blimmin' cold for daytime down here, even at this time of year.

    And it's still raining.

I'd imagine that's because you have to go through Swanley?!

Prediction. Starts pissing it down around 11am and turns to wet snow at night for an hour, barely settling.

... and then freeze solid overnight.
And this is my worry. I have a 9.40am flight to Malaga tomorrow morning from City. What are my chances?

Well, as long as the bar is open I would say your chances are "fair to sozzled".

add to this serious flood warning down the east coast, Jaywick on the Thames Estuary being evacuated tomorrow morning, and flood alerts in for the Thames around Gravesend/Dartford, and on the Medway

Good job Boris' Thames estuary airport is still on the back burner then.

There could be up to £46 of damages if Jaywick takes the full brunt of that flood.

    Sidcup?!

In all seriousness, it's not as bad as people views on it. Has it's problems but what area doesn't.

And back to the thread - it's pelting down with rain here with no snow in sight.
