I hate to plough in with a correction but....the Arctic is a cold desert with only small amounts of snowfall. Lots of wind giving the effect it is snowing but strictly speaking it isn't. If you had chosen the Antarctic you would have had a point, surrounded as it is by ocean, thus allowing wet air to precipitate but even then central Antactica is also a desert.
I found a small dog in the melting snow last night. It was a slush puppy.
Just been out dog walking for 2 hours this morning in shorts (me, not the dog) all I can say is that it's fooking cold in the snow. It was almost tropical before it started.
Had a good one hour of snow yesterday evening which at times was quite heavy. Dusting of snow on street. And cars this morning. On Saturday it was 20 degrees.
