Striker to re-sign on Monday

Not for Charlton, far more exciting than that.

Nick Jarvis and the Striker cartoon strip, which started in 1985, will be back in The Sun from Monday after a 4 year absence.

All they've got to do now is bring back George and Lynne.

  • It was very odd how it just ended and then the vampire shite was in it

Don't buy the scum any more wonder if the story will carry on from the big lad buying that waste ground to build a new stadium
  • And Lynne would've def got it from me George was the luckiest cartoon Alive
  • Don't read The Sun, but love their new advert on the box! Quality!
  • ......and love the open letter/advert they recently put in an Argentine paper re. Falklands!

Thought that letter was crass, reckless and potentially damaging - a newspaper should report the news, not be it and that is what gets News International in hot water. They haven't learned anything. I'd shut the whole operation down tomorrow if I could.

Striker was good though - if a bit cliched - I bought the short lived comic until it folded. Did anybody get Roy of the Rovers as a kid. It was so exciting getting it through the door with my parents papers on a Saturday. Better than Striker by some way.
  • All comics fold. Only made of paper after all.

Lynne should never be a would ya, she is an out and out yes.

For me back in the days of having proper time at work to park my arse up in the van and get the paper out, it was a perfect newspaper day when striker and dear deirdre were on opposite pages

  • Realise this is a very random thread bump but it's just what came up in the search.
  • That's a much more interesting match than what else is on though!
  • I'llhave a word with the mirror and ask for scorer and Dave Storry to be bought back too

  • In front of a sell out crowd and no protests.

    Only in The Sun

  • I think some of our strikers resigned long before this Monday.
  • We get beaten in cartoons as well.
