Try trainline.com first and see what the discount is with a friends and family rail card. If the discount is more than £25 then apply for one of those and book your tickets0

NSS starts train spotter thread classic0

Where's Nathan when you need him!0

Huddersfield away last season was £80-95p for one adult & one child on a family railcard, paying on the day. It's one of the more expensive away trips. (Carlisle was only £7 dearer). Go for the cheap tickets if you don't mind being restricted to a particular train.northstandsteve said:just tried national rail enquiries with a family and friends railcard for 3 adults and 3 kids £204 seems very pricing .

Got a Megaplus deal up there for £13 at fairly late notice last year, then just booked a train from Wakefield coming back.
Ended up alright, even if we did miss our train to Wakefield, try catch it in a taxi, end up in Doncaster then drunkenly got ourselves out of £100+ penalty fares.0 -

For Hull, wait and see if they're in the 5th round. They have a replay at Orient next.

6th round of the FA cup day0

http://www.splityourticket.co.uk/travel/London-to-Huddersfield.aspx - gives the best deal for walk-on fares though I think you might have to change at Stoke on Trent from London Midland to Virgin. http://www.londonmidland.com/sale/ is offering a sale on their tickets - might be good between London and Stoke on Trent.0

Using specific trains you can get a return for £68.55 for 1 adult and 1 child with a family railcard.0
-
£26 return is the cheapest, if available, through eastcoast. However, with megabus you need to check each day until they become availabe, through megabus it can be a combination of train then coach. Not sure about the return leg.northstandsteve said:

It's cup 6th round day and Huddersfield are still in the cup.0

Here we go - trainspotter time - London Mid to Stafford 0846 a good bet, Cross Country Trains to Manc Piccadilly then Northern Rail to Huddersfield - bit long winded but cheap and don't have to pre book.0
