    Lost respect for the man when he labelled the flag he's teams supporters were displaying at a game as racist!!
    I beleive it was the Cross of St George with 'Born in England, Live in England, Die in England' written on it and he wanted them to take it down!!

    Not for me since that day!!

    Butcher was born overseas & lives outside England, but I doubt many people would question his commitment to England when he played for England.

    I'd have to do some digging Sheffield! It was a good few years back and was when he was at Brentford I beleive! And i'm guesisng now but I'm sure one of the Sodje's was mentioned at the time. Think maybe Butcher was being offended on his behalf - like I say i'm sruggling to rememeber so don't take that bit as gospel till i find it.

    Would not question his commitment when playing for England, though I beleive he has since been involved with Scotland!!!?!? Each to their own!!

    I think you have to be cynical about this: his loyalty to ICT and his signings didn't prevent him from going to talk to Barnsley. Will be interesting to see how he reacts if he gets a call about a more interesting prospect.

    Think I held him in a negative light for his involvement with Scotland, but then got my reasons muddled.

    Born in England, live in England, die in England. No way is that racist.
    Martin Allen is a fool, unless he believes the flag bearer was racist for some other reason.

    the article dates from 2005 !! .. And the idea that mad poodle Allen M is p.c is just ridiculous .. he just wanted to see his name in the papers
