    Oh definately. We criticise referrees a lot but I have to say i never thought the City pen was one until I got my 400 replays on sky which showed the ref got it absolutely spot on.

    Unrelated by Arsenal look absolutely dire, has Walcott kicked the ball yet ?

    I was surprised yesterdays ref allowed Hamer to wear a top very similar to the blackpool kit.

    Thought the ref was great yesterday. Barely noticed him. Thought he called the Waggy dive correctly. Jacko saw fit to berate Waggy for a good 20 seconds afterwards so he clearly thought he'd made a meal of it.

    I agree, I think it was wrong. But from a different angle it does look like Kompany jumps in 2 footed off the floor. If the Ref sees that angle then it's a straight Red and a justifiable mistake.

    Thought he had a good game, not sure how he didn't give the free kick for the Waggy foul or book him for diving. Surprised he let Hamer play in the purple top as it was very close to their away kit, along with their keeper's yellow top and the officials' tops.

    Have to agree with Church Lane and NLA. I'm pretty sure the ref's view was blocked and without either Lino flagging, he can't give it. I also thought Waggy left his feet behind intentionally looking or the foul when he actually had a chance to burst clear and score. He has plenty of form for this of course.

    He kept 22 players on the pitch. He did a good job, and I got to see an even game of football for a change.

    Thought he was good. RE: The Wagstaff incident, regardless of whether or not there was a foul, if Forrestrie (Watford Diving Champion) had performed the same theatrics we would be livid. I say that as a Wagstaff fan mind you, he did himself no favours in that situation.

    A foul is a foul whether Waggy made a meal of it or not. Difficult for a ref to make a judgement, but he could have booked him for overreacting but still given us a free kick or penalty if he thought that Waggy was fouled. Why would Waggy throw himself to ground if he was through on goal? Bad decision to not give us anything, but overall a very good performance from the Ref for a change.

    What does a ref do - his view was blocked, he pretty much knows the player has been fouled but hasn't seen it. Really needed his lino to help but he was on wrong side and his view may have also been obscured too. If he doesn't see it he can't give it - I'm sure that would be his explanation. No complaints.

    If he had seen it it would probably have been a booking although a sending off was a possibility.

    It was a foul hundred percent if waggs went down at the point of contact


    However he never he went to ground 1 whole step after the incident when he realised he had over ran the ball

    He also over played the falling down bit

    Last week the Huddersfield keeper wore the same colours as all 3 officials - yellow top, black shorts.

    Surprisingly, nobody seemed bothered.

    Ref had a very good game. No doubt there was contact with Waggy and it was a foul but is anyone surprised he went down like a sack of shit he's been doing it for about 4 seasons now.

    Same. I said to the guy next to me "Why is Hamer wearing a Blackpool kit?". Mystifying really, considering his usual shirt is white, which would have clashed with nobody. Also, Gilks was wearing the same colour as the officials.

    Other than that though, and the Waggy foul/dive I thought the ref had an excellent game, which makes a very pleasant change!!

    Thankfully he got the penalty call spot on-- if he d fallen for that it may have been different result.
    From where I was sitting it looked a definite penalty....

    I particularly liked the incident when he fell over. Unlike a lot of refs, he did actually see the funny side of it himself as evidenced by his bow to the crowd.

    Easy game to ref yesterday with both sides trying to play football. Only criticism would be if it wasn't a pen when the QPR player went down, why didn't he book him for diving?

    Don't think he had a good view of the player going down. If he had he might have awarded it, though wrongly imo.

    So, in addition to Mike Jones from January 2013, we note Eddie Ilderton as a decent ref, at least until his next game with us!

    Hold on a minute, hold on! I distinctly remember the ref chesting (or maybe it was more belly) one of our passes to a QPR player!

    I liked the way he ignored the QPR player writhing around to try and get the game stopped when we were in a great position. When our attack petered out he jumped up and ran back to his own half.

    I think that's a very good point. There's lots of people on here this weekend saying what a great game we had and how our manager got his tactics spot on. But for one decision, we could have well had a whole different crowd on here saying we'd had a bad game and the manager got the tactics wrong.

    To me, it's a great indicator that the margins in professional football are very narrow and that the old adage is true; don't get too carried away with the victories or too downhearted by the defeats.
