Being given grief about going up on Saturday. Personally I just think it adds to the sense of adventure.

Glad I haven't bought tickets yet though.

Should be in the "Rumours Rumours" thread......?

All conjecture at the moment, of course.
They could be right though - perhaps similar odds to Charlton getting a win?

    ;o)

If the coach leaves and game is called off or coach can't make it but game is played anyone know what will happen?

90% of the passengers will freeze to death in a lay by on the M6. The other 10% will decide to eat their fellow addicks after no one can raise help.

Don't worry though, if you are one of the 10% you'll cash in when they make a film about it in a few years.

We played a midweek game up there around 1982 when the entire country was under snow. Legend has it one coach managed to get there and it took them all night to get back. Was anybody on here present?

Would imagine the roads will be clear, it will be around the stadium that might be a problem.

Naaah, I wasn't there. Had a job interview that day, remember seeing Addicks waiting for coaches as I made my way to Bexleyheath station thinking "Good luck lads but our best chance was at The Valley". This is why I don't bet on football......

Anyway, if I had got a whack it would have been with a black pudding which doesn't hurt that much - unless it's frozen. Be careful on saturday chaps.
  • Must have been the last time we played there, and lost , I remember walking away from the ground and encountering a smug faced little rugrat crowing about how the mighty Blackburn had beaten the Charlton...He wasn't even looking at us, in our Charlton colours but it must have been a worse than usual defeat that made me shout, very loudly " Oh p*ss off, you little oik !"

Lots of startled faces around me but my travelling companions cracked up.....and will no doubt remind me of this unladylike outburst after the final whistle on Saturday.

(Guess you just had to be there )

Accrington V Wombles is off although I suspect Stanley do not have undersoil heating.
  • I'll be making my way up there and if it's off will go out in Manchester for a few hours. Hope it's on though obviously!!

Following Blackburn's offical page on Twitter and they are very confident it's on, posting a picture of the pitch this morning which looks in superb nick, and also stating that the areas around the groud have been gritted.

that maybe the case but what about our team ? have they left yet ? usually the leave lunchtime/early afternoon and travel upto a local hotel. Roads are not too good in the midlands & n/west and they may get stuck over night .

    any news ???
