Control of the "superstore" was handed over to |Nike subsidiary when we signed up to Nike, so RD had no control over their opening hours or benefit from any cost savings.

The contract with Just Sports (Nike) states that the shop must adhere to the opening hours of the club.

Personally I think he had a very difficult job to do, and the Club shop and Catering were two things that I know he inherited the contracts on, which I know

The catering operation was ran by the club when he arrived, DNC were and are the caterers at Arsenal FC and are the caterers that were appointed to The Valley under Kensells tenure.

Are we stuck with DNC on a long obligation? Anybody know.
Judging from a bit of a distance they appear to be absolute rubbish.

The problem may be that they got too many fingers in the pies.

Now left Norwich for new ventures.

No connection to them dumping their soft porn betting sponsor, I'm sure.

Just on Sky Sports News talking about the Bournemouth owner’s investment in Hibs, where Kensell is CEO. Talking up the benefits of being part of a network of clubs. Wonder where he thought that was a good idea 🤔🤦🏻‍♂️😂

Think the Bournemouth owner is investing in an Auckland team as well - Who'll be joining the A-League in 2025

Correct. There are concerns about the creation of a second team in NZ. One is barely sustainable.

The costs/time/distance incurred for a team from NZ playing every single away match in Australia must be astronomical. Are they subsidised by some wealthy benefactor? Do the league chip in with the costs?

I’m not Aware of any league given subsidy. Perth probably have a bigger travel bill to be honest

I believe the caterers now at Charlton, are different from the company that did the catering when Ben Kensell was at Charlton.

My Dad and I used various hospitality suites and Ben was extremely helpful sorting out some of the problems we experienced, when there were changes in the offering from each of the suites.

The caterers last changed in 2019 (long after Kensell). The firm was taken over, and the contract extended for five years (according to the PR at the time) in 2022.

Kensell was responsible for introducing the multi-tiered  ticket pricing within individual stands which is the origin of the current cliff-edge pricing. He also announced that seats in the upper Covered End would in future be linked to lounge purchase, a plan which lasted, if I recall correctly, about two hours.

He does have a habit of leaving jobs abruptly.

So in summary, suffering from severe lack of competence issues but somehow still getting a gig despite then failing each time in new and innovative ways.

Yes, there were lots of changes to the hospitality packages when Ben was there. I complained to Ben about the changes and he was very helpful if putting in place a solution that worked for us. Ravi took over and worked very hard to make our match day experience as pleasurable as possible.

Didn’t we have a whole season of Crossbars being almost entirely empty on matchdays because the club wanted people to pay a membership?
