A disappointing result, but the Charlton Suicide Squad never disappoint, do they?
Good cartoon Stig. I ain't suicidal. As I said in my original post, I have supported Charlton through 'fick n' finn'. It was only my knee jerk "OPINION" on the way I think things could be put right. Anyway, here's to the next game! Let's hope we score more than one goal eh!
The difference was Kevin Phillips! Holloway brought him on and his movement hurt us! Hamer made a couple of great saves no way was he to blame! We should have scored 3 in the first half! Misses by morro Leon and JJ! Fuller was excellent up front JJ ran his arse off! The first half was ours by a street the second was there's! And they scored one more goal than us! That's about it!
Gutted but we move on. Powell will be a great manager - he's not there yet. I can only base my opinion on the radio commentary but it seems we bossed the first half, Holloway showed a bit of nous with his substitutions and they mullered us second and overall they deserved the win. It hurts like hell but that's football and you have to keep it in perspective. Let the Palace have their fun and let's look forward. Powelly will be a better manager because of this.
Good post, totally gutted, feel like a teenager that's just been stood up on a blind date

As close to the bottom 3 as the play offs. Not crisis yet, but looking at the games coming up, it could be very soon. We have ground out results to get to where we are. But there is always one team who comes from nowhere to reach the play offs and one who drops like a stone and goes down on the last day.
LL Stats do not bear this out. Over the last six seasons no team lower than 9th has made the Play Offs and no team higher than 17th has been relegated based on the positions after 29 games.
We're an average middle of the road side sitting in mid table. Given the 5/6 years I'd take that. Finances to strengthen just aren't there. Until we get a decent cash injection were not going to be able to progress. Im not one for digging out players but the likes of cort, Jackson, wagstaff, Pritchard, kermorgant to name but a few are mid table championship players at best......The fact that we've lost to those clowns makes it all seem worse than it is. As Afka said, there is no point on getting so downbeat. I've lost count of the amount of times when I've got pumped up for a game, and then leave the ground fuming. But hey, it's charlton athletic - it's what they do. Take it on the chin and forget about it.
I've just seen that at half-time the following message from the club appeared on my Facebook news feed:
Charlton Athletic FC - Official Half-time: Crystal Palace 0 Charlton 1 thanks to Ricardo Fuller's strike. We have been excellent in the first period, but important to remember that we are only half way through.
Shame they forgot to send the message to the dressing-room!

thats is a very short time period..............what about the last 20 years or since 3 points for a win came in.
Seems kind of weird. Last week we had god knows how many wendies on here giving us stick and gloating.
I wasnt at the game but before the game I didnt really agree with the starting line up but it obviously proved me wrong because we sounded like we dominated the 1st half.
Can anyone at the game tell me why waggy was subbed. Being one of the fittest players at the club, I would have thought he would have stayed on to work his nuts off for the full 90

Didn't do anything 2nd half. Wiggins probably had more touches when he came on.
Decent first half though. We're simply not fit enough at the moment and don't have the quality to compensate for it.
That was nothing like a relegation performance from nothing like a relegation team. The Palarse fan is talking more sense than some on here.
Ditto.
Yeah we are too good to go down. Problem is I've heard that many times over the years about many teams.
Not too good to go down, but not bad enough to.
I think the only thing that will keeep us up is that we aren't getting trounced and our goal difference is pretty good. I'm usually more concerned that we don't score enough goals, but in this insistance the reason why I think we will stay up (just) is that we don't conceed loads.
We're an average side, and average sides neither end up promoted nor relegated. As supporters,we revel in the sweetness of victory and lick our wounds in defeat.
Wiggins is cursed, shouldn't have come on in such a pressure situation, and we needed to change the way we were playing, properly under the cosh for 20 minutes before the goal, and the lift the crowd gave them after the equaliser was only going to produce one result.
Bitterly disappointed, we should be 8th and 2 points off playoffs right now, instead we are back to 14th
I'm genuinely flattered by how obsessed with our club you are. You win a match against a decent side and yet you're on here talking about Charlton. Thanks, we appreciate your Charlton love
Sounds like we were beaten by a much better team & by a more experienced and wily manager. Although we dominated the 1st half we only scored 1 goal. Holloway was then able to change it round at HT & during the 2nd half so that their better quality was able to come through. Very disappointed but totally expected. CP will learn & he'll eventually get better players. Until then we will be inconsistent & we'll lose games like this one.

The important thing is to enjoy it regardless.

Bore off owlstalk, your forum is an embarrassing load of chuff.
Who did? Jordan, Reid, Pardue, Parkinson?
