You saw more than 10 get nicked ? I saw a fee get kicked out for being pissed (that's football in 2013 I guess) but I think I only saw one actually get cuffed.ISawLeaburnScore said:

Saw two cuffed before the game in a melee one was Palace though then about 3 or 4 on that lovely journey back to NJ.0

People need to know that these devices will not be tolerated in football stadiums. THEY ARE ILLEGAL. A hard stance needs to be taken NOW whilst the setting off of these things is still relatively new in this country. I would certainly like to see much tougher sentences than are passed for many crimes at the moment. We all know that most sentences will be halved.0

I just don't see why some of you get pleasure from a flare in a stadium and think it adds to the atmosphere. Can't you just enjoy watching a football match? I watch football because I love the game. I enjoy clapping and singing (productive songs that support my team, Charlton) not abuse aimed at people I don't know. I only stand when we score so that I don't spoil the view for anyone else.Choice said:

Thing is ME14 although you don't think they add to the atmosphere, i bet a lot more people on this thread do.
And i bet an even greater amount of people(myself included) just don't give a monkeys whether there are flares or not.
No wonder we get the 'anorak' or 'trainspotter' tags. By all means carry on living life with your 'holier than thou' attitude, but lets not bother making stories out of nothing.0 -
after the fuller goal the crowd went mental with flares and smoke and all sorts. effing brilliant it was. wish it was like that every week. deafening noise throughout most of the game. i understand some don't like it but i loved it. millwall and palace away are what being a charlton fan is all about for me. can't f'ing wait until next season when i hope all three teams are in the same division. apart from the result it was a great day.0

people get different pleasure from different things, you may get pleasure from listening to jazz but it doesnt mean everyone else will agree. personally i don't see a problem with abuse towards palace supporters ...to me they are our main local rival and I had to put up with going there for 5 years, many others i know feel the same.ME14addick said:

i think we also love watching football ...but depending on what floats your boat, to me football is all about passion and rivalry, thats what makes it so good when you get an atmosphere like saturday.

Well said. To many that go now the actual football is of secondary importance. They may as well all meet down the local park and gesticulate at each other, swear at each other, set off some flares, chuck park benches around and then smash up the bogs before attacking cars in the car park before going down the pub and a having a laugh about it leaving us that want to watch a football match and get behind the team positively to do so.ME14addick said:
