A footballing question

I have always wondered what would happen in this situation: a player commits a bad foul - it is a bookable offence - but advantage is played, the game continues with the referee knowing he will book the player at the next stoppage. Before the ball goes out of play the same player commits another bookable offence, the ref would have booked the player for this one aswell.

Can he be sent off? If so is it for a second bookable offence? Straight red?

I know that there are a few posters that have said they have refereeing experience; could they enlighten me?

  • It would be two cautions followed by the player being sent off, just because the referee allowed an advantage it would not stop the second subseqent caution.
  • Yep, would be sent off
