  • wasn't el kahlej (sp) a right back? or rueben agboooooooooooooooolah.
i'm sure there are more crap players from the 70's/early 80's. i remember paul curtis taking some stick in the 80's he was a rb.

Gary Churchouse or Viggo Jacobsen were both worse midfielders than Kevin Smith who was a reasonable player by our standards at the time.

Richard Wilson, Barry Endean and Johnny Ostergaard were all worse strikers than Lisbie and Grant.

Tony Lange wasn't the greatest of keepers. I remember a really soft goal costing us a defeat against Huddersfield when Lange and Les Berry played "after you Claude" enabling a Huddersfield player (?Lillis possibly) to nip in and score.

Is "tydenham" meant to be Dick Tydeman? Tydeman was a cultured midfielder not a defender and was one of our better players in the mid late seventies.

Despite his involvement in the mix up with Lange we've had many worse defenders than Les Berry. Maurice Setters was a decent player in his time but absolutely dire by the time he came to us. I also give you Tom Hovi.

Barry Endean 1 goal in 27 games. Richard Wilson 1 goal in about 16 games. Lisbie's ratio isn't great agreed but it's better than that.

Regarding Kevin Smith you judge on what you see. I was still playing sport at that time so didn't see every match but Kevin Smith always had a decent game in the matches I saw to the point that I was sorry to see him go. I also think he was (and presumably is) a Charlton fan.

The XI that "played" against Wycombe in the Cup this year. May well be some good players in there but that was the worst display of effort and fight I can remember.

Chapple and McCleary were Donkeys. Remember the own goal they conjured up between them at Molineux? Agreed Bradley Allen was shite!
