The CLiCK Form Guide this month tells us some things we know but also throws up some interesting facts.
The win at Leicester made our form look better than many may accept, but it was a big win. Brighton look to be the form team in a month which included wins over Hull and Cardiff. Barnsley also picked up two wins against out of form sides Middlesbrough and Wolves. Derby had the worst month according to CLiCK without being defeated by more than one goal. Watford and Sheffield Wednesday have had decent results too.
In terms of changing league positions, an interesting fact has emerged. Of the teams currently in the top half, 8 have improved their league position during February, 2 have stayed in the same position (one of which is runaway leaders, Cardiff, who couldn’t go higher) and only two have dropped in the league table – Middlesbrough and Leicester. What has effectively happened is that much of the middle of the table has shuffled from the top to bottom half and vice versa, including Charlton and Millwall, of course. The biggest climber is Bolton who have jumped 7 places in the right direction. Meanwhile, Millwall and this week’s opposition, Burnley, have slipped 5 places in February.
The statistics part of the guide as usual is packed with facts. Interestingly, Barnsley hold the longest run of consecutive games in which they have scored – 11 games, in fact. Our friends at Crystal Palace continue to be regular scorers – home and away. And, which is the only club that hasn’t strung two consecutive home wins together this season? Well, it won’t be Charlton after wins against Burnley and Millwall.
