my home town club and wembley is just a bus ride away from where i'm living now. I'm really close to TWFC through family connections so I'm quite proud, won't give anymore away that might reveal my identity
Just told the in-laws and asked if we would be hiring a minibus. They looked at me like I was mentally ill then went back to The Telegraph, though to be fair they do that whenever I say anything.
opposition is filled with former Fa Vase winners so i'm not holding out much hope, but its going to be a great day out with 10,000+ fellow tunbridge wellians. All just a bus ride from my flat in west london! Lovely.

Had a little look at the oppo and they have some good players for that level, although with a crowd outnumbered 11 to 1, you never know what will happen!!
They can get 115 points in the Northern League and still not win it (Darlington have 122!). Crazy.
Just had a look and they've won the Northern league the last 3 years running but chose not to be promoted so they probably aren't too bothered at Darlington pipping them to the title
Not just T. Wellians. Just dropped my mate off at the airport who is a Tonbridge fan, there are a whole bunch of them going to lend their moral support too...

strange that they are probably paying quite a bit of money (from the squad they have) and chose not to go up.

they're quite content turning up and winning every saturday. Team's probably filled with utd and chelski supporters.
final score Spennymoor 2 - 1 Tunbridge Wells after 90 mins. Great atmosphere and a great day, Spennymoor were the better side. Although their Dennis Wise sized number 10 sprinted straight towards our supporters doing a clown celebration when he scored the first, really took the class off their performance as they had some good little players. Team did the 11,000 + t wells fans there proud though, never stopped fighting. Managed to get a goal back in the 80th min to make it 1-1 but we lost our heads and they went down the other end and scored.
Tunbridge Wells fans can now lay their hands on a limited edition book of their trip to Wembley with the proceeds going to charity.Print
Of course there have been other Kent clubs who have been to Wembley Finals.
Some have even gloriously won – the Gills in two different Play Off Finals; the Fleet in the FA Trophy, and of course it was all started by Deal Town back in 2000 when Roly Graham’s wonder goal won the FA Vase for Tommy Sampson’s side.
Move forward 13 years – Saturday 4th May 2013 under the Wembley Arch…
It’s a date and monumental venue that will be forever remembered in the annuls of Kent footballing history – it was a day when fifteen dressed in red and white – and one looking like a wasp in bright canary yellow and black – came so very very close to pulling off one of the biggest upsets seen at the national stadium since it was rebuilt – they really were “HEROES ALL!”
And to mark the heroic efforts of Martin Larkin and his Tunbridge Wells players in reaching the 2013 FA Carlsberg Vase Final, KSN commissioned a review of the great day and that publication is now available to pre order.
“HEROES ALL” tells the story of the day that the Wells went to Wembley through the eyes of those who made it happen – the players and management themselves – along with Kent FA Chairman Barry Bright, and Karen Millen OBE – fashion designer, patron of the Teens Unite cancer charity, and of course Mum to Josh Stanford whose goal brought such joy to over 11,000 Kent football fans who made the pilgrimage…
HEROES ALL!!! will be available from every single club around Kent in the next two weeks and will cost £5.00 for 68 pages of memories and some wonderful photographs taken on the day by our professional team. And we are delighted to announce that for every copy sold, KSN will donate £2.00 to charity with £1.00 going to Teens Unite with the other going to DEMELZA Hospice Care for Children.
Copies will be first available at the 20/20 Charity Cricket match at the Leeds and Broomfield Cricket Club on Wednesday 14th August, before the “official launch” which will take place at Tunbridge Wells’ home game on Tuesday 20th August in the Southern Counties East Football League against Beckenham Town.
(Contingency plans have been made to move the launch date to August Bank Holiday Monday if FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round replays cause the game on the 20th to be postponed).
However, you can pre-order your copy now by emailing steve@kentsportsnews.com who will reserve your copy.
If you’d like us to send you a copy, send a cheque for £6 (to cover P&P) made payable to Kent Sports News and send it to:
