i was on yesterday in the afternoon until i left work at about 7pm (midnight your time). checked once or twice while i was at home. then i checked the board again when i woke up at 7 am (noon your time) and then have been on since i got to work around 8 am (1 your time) and probably will be until i leave work to go home (hopefully around 6pm, 11pm your time).Goonerhater said:so he has been on here all day-------------and he lives in the USA.

But knowing Charlton's luck ....in ten years time as Millwall lift the Champions League after their third season of romping the Premiership, Warren Buffet will tearfully claim "This is a great day for the club. My son really wanted to go to a Charlton game about a decade ago but due to being snubbed by their fans in his search for a ticket a kindly Millwall fan gave him a spare. Since that day he has followed them with a fervent passion and so for his 21st birthday I bought him the club and the rest is history", before passing the trophy to the future version of Messi and Ronaldo who parade it on the open top bus down the OKR.0 -

Wow, you must have a very understanding missus. You are in London for only very short time and she's happy to spend half of your only free full day watching two teams her nor you have any interest in.

No, it's not your only option. People have suggested alternatives - and personally I'd recommend Brentford due to the plethora of nice pubs nearby, although depending on where you're based Orient might be more practical. Expending this much effort trying to get tickets to watch 2 teams that allegedly none of your party support, particularly when the other two appear to have very little interest in football at all, is quite frankly a waste of your time and ours.thethinwhiteduke said:

You're in London, one of the great world cities, and you want to pay over the odds to see a bad tempered match between 2 out of form tier 2 teams on a manky pitch, and suffer the associated police overkill? SERIOUSLY? Do the traditional tourist things - take a boat trip down the river, take your Mrs to a show or for a meal up the Oxo Tower, if the weather's nice have a picnic in one of the Royal Parks or go shopping on Oxford Street (I hear the exchange rate is comparatively favourable at the moment). as both my girlfriend and i have been to london a number of times we dont have much interest in doing the traditional tourist things. a picnic in march sounds cold, i can see broadway plays anytime that i like and ive already been on a thames river boat tour.
i do appreciate the sentiment and suggestions but i would like if possible on my trip to go to a match and this is the only one ill be able to convince my girlfriend to attend. going to brentford in a 12k seat stadium that is more than an hour from my hotel would be a tough sell for me. im sorry if my persistence or interest bothers or puts some of you off.0 -

since i seem to be either annoying people with my attempt to watch a Charlton match or worse, my persistence seems to give people the alternate impression that i care about the other team, i will stop bothering everyone here.
on footymad i was told to try scalping tickets by the statue on the day of the match so that is what ill try to do. if you see a tall, fat american in a black fleece trying to buy tickets off of confused scalpers that day feel free to stop by and say hi.0 -
