Lucky enough to get a birthday treat and watch Barcelona against Rayo at the Noucamp Sunday night. Fantastic pick me up for the Millwall result! Tremendous atmosphere under lights but interesting comparisons with British football. They all eat nuts during the game leaving a sea of shells, most Spanish, sorry Catalan, fans don't wear the colours, making the tourists- a lot of them - easy to spot. Barca are magnificent and Rayo were not at all bad. We were eight rows back behind the goal and Pique is pure class as a centre back. Messi scored a great second goal right in front of us and I swear he literally caressed the ball over the Rayo keeper after an electric run into the box. Sublime. Very little away support- well, 9pm kick off on a Sunday night is against that but apparently there isn't for more convenient games - still pretty thorough security with no alcohol, cans etc allowed in and only food was a pretty good hot dog with a real sausage. Tickets are pretty easy to come by and if you get the chance go to the Noucamp for a game. It is one of those not to be missed soccer experiences. They also sing the Barca version of "Red Robin" before and after the game win or lose with the same fervour.
