somebody had better tell CP then...............so often at home this season we set off on the back foot and the opposition have had half a dozen chances before we get going.
FOR ONCE it would be nice to see us on the front foot, get an early goal and put pressure on them.
Yes, we are a bit too cautious early doors, then become a bit cautious if we are in the lead. When the dust has settled on this season, I'm sure this will be identified as an issue by Chrissy. It doesn't matter who is to blame for it, but it can be identified through analysis.
Mind you, putting a player on the line for free kicks can also be proven to be beneficial from analysis. Most managers/keepers chose to ignore this blatent fact.
Anyone that thinks Leeds will roll over for us to tickle their tum are in for a shock. We might well have enough to win and I hope we do but it will be hard fought and very close.
Makes no difference - they will be just as hard opponents. I have always had a soft spot for Colin. Everybody seems to hate him, but I find him human and likable.

Except its not as clear cut as you suggest. As well as removing any opportunity for the attacking players to be called offside, allowing the attacking team to crowd the goalkeeper, the player on the line is also distracting to the goalie. There are a huge number of factors to consider, from the positioning of the free kick to the goalkeepers personal preference that all have to be considered.
Clubs hire full time staff to provide analysis of such things, and its exactly because of such analysis that players are rarely put on the line when defending free kicks
Redfearn until the end of the season is what is being said. Caretaker managers seldom work so lrts hope he does have the job until after next Saturday.

Disagree - in the Curbishley years, I only recall one goal scored from a free kick - Thierry Henry. I don't recall any goals resulting from players distracting the keeper. If the clubs pay analysts, they are being robbed.
Chrissy Powell has said, he leaves the decision to his keeper - nothing about analysts!
Our game against Leeds is massive. I really feel that we need to be looking at no less than 3 points from this fixture. IMHO 4 more points from the remaining 6 games should see us safe.
"Colin" had a good dig at Mark Hughes this morning, saying he hopes he takes over at Leeds and destroys another team he had built.
Saw that this morning. Obviously no love lost between those two. Colin also said he thought Leeds needed an older head as manager, rather than one of the new young breed. Apparently so much going on behind the scenes, it needs someone who has seen it all before. In his opinion. A little dig at the revolving door ownership saga?!
