Football League Show

Leeds were described as 'looking lively'...

Oh and apparently Michael Morrison is called Steve Morrison.

Worst programme, could surely make improvements on that excuse of tv.

Never understood the hype around James Richardson as a presenter/pundit. At least they don't have that Glendenning idiot on there....

Had to laugh at the commentators mention of 'spanners' during the Millwall highlights

James Richardson for Italian football was excellent. Very witty and actually knows about the game.

In their defence, they have a few hours to edit 30+ match highlights, write scripts for the voice over men and record said voice overs. I think it's forgiveable they got two players with the same surname mixed up.

And I love AC Jimbo, would be great if he got Manish's slot.

As I write I am watching my recording of it. How the chuffin' 'eck can Leroy be a month older than me? He looks like he could be my son ( well, almost ). Git. ;-)

Watched a bit more now. Leroy hasn't aged, but fair play to Messrs McCarthy and Jacket for their honesty - it's not just our Chris who can put a fair opinion across when things go for or against them! Any of the managers of the Sky four ( and a half ) veiwing could really learn a lesson there.

Richardson understand his football though. Certainly a cut above Bhasin, ferret-bonce Claridge and Leroy.

I like Richardson but believe didn't have any real passion for football it was just that he spoke Italian that got him the channel four gig. Think used to do announcements at London monarch games at wembley too.

He got the job by luck but went on to make it his own.

A few years ago I had a shout out on the Guardian podcast as I said I'd rather go down to League 1 than be a rich man's toy...

Just got round to watching last weekend's. It really is a complete disgrace.

They have Gary Johnson on. Show them beating Milwall, chat to him about it. About 5 minutes later they flash up a league table that shows Yeovil bottom. Mistakes happen, fair enough, they'd flashed up the table before the day's matches (e.g. with everyone on 0 games, points and goals. Poor, but mistakes happen. Manish, apparently the brains of the operation, turns to Gary and says "you must be dissapointed to see Yeovil in that position". He just laughed it off and said, "we're not." But to me that shows how much effort and thought the BBC put into their coverage. They do not give a shit. Bhasin's job is to act as an anchor on the BBC's flagship football league programme. He apparently supports a CCC team. He must know it's opening weekend. He must have noticed that he hadn't been going to the studio place and talking about the football stuff, so he must have known it was the first week. And he definitely knew Gary's team had won, because he chatted to him about it for a while. So, statistically, a child of three would know that whatever position they were in they could not possibly be in the bottom half of the table. But no, no thought at all. I know it's a small thing, but it's pathetic. There are dozens of amusing and insightful football analysts out there: Tim Vicary, James Richardson, James Horncastle yet the BBC seems to be throwing our money at a series of mugs. And while it's good that content-free lame ducks like Lawro and Bright are being eased off the gravy train I've got no confidence that they won't get other, similar losers on board.

I actually quite like Manish as a presenter - but he clearly knows nothing about football. He'd be better off presenting a news or current affairs show.

Yes, find him quite amiable. Something that doesn't involve numbers might be good.

He's never done anything to annoy me. Which for a football presenter is probably about the highest praise I will ever give.

Then again, his job is pretty much limited to being the link man so the most annoying thing he's ever gonna say is, "What do you make of that Steve"?

I don't know why but just don't like Steve Claridge - seems to be another who doesn't really want to be there and just states the obvious.

Perhaps, it's the fact that he's bleedin useless, has no personality & can't even manage to look up, but just stares at the desk. He is the worst amongst a tide of shite.
