Am I jealous of Millwall? Not in the slightest. I support a club that is far better than theirs. I feel totally at one with being a Charlton fan and nothing will change that. When I visit The Valley, I am completely at home. When I have visited The Den on occasions I have felt a mix of revulsion, disgust and relief that it's only a one-off visit. I honestly couldn't swap my Addicktion for their Spannerishness if my life depended on it.
Am I jealous of the fact that they are in the cup semi-final? Yes I am, I am jealous of every club that makes it that far, because it's something we've not managed in my lifetime. I'd love us to be playing at Wembley, I'd love us to have a cup run, I'd love us to have a chance at Europe. Every season I start out with the hope that, this year it'll be our year; every year I am disappointed. This year we wasted a massive opportunity, if we'd beaten Huddersfield our route would have been Leicester and then Wigan. There's no reason at all why we couldn't have beaten them (except - we're Charlton and we don't do cups), and if we did, we'd be playing Millwall at Wembley ourselves. It's not likely that a run as easy as that will present itself for a few years.
Am I more jealous because they are a club I dislike? Yeah probably. Like others, I wouldn't swap our years in top-flight for their cup runs but this still rankles. But if I could play god, I'd like to snatch this little moment away from them and give it to (almost) any other team in the league. Childish I know, but it's very difficult to change your emotions. Best change that probably to a definately.
I support them because my dad took me down there however bad they are bar moaning there my club what I'm doing is exposing how for a club our size we seem unable to do normal things like cup runs or even beat our local rivals regularly , seven years in the premier should get you a cup run or Europe look at Fulham or Wigan , thankfully Wigan are to good for the scum and will smash them , that's Wigan who can't sell out at Wembley and are a tiny little club , either way semi final at wembley is something we watch on tv
I don't want to sound negative but a Semi-Final is nothing like a Funal, and the semis shouldn't be at Wembley anyway.
I'd like us to be in a Final but even if they beat Wigan they have still not win anything.
Honestly, I really am not jealous of them. If they win the Cup I will, literally, go green, but anything short of that is, frankly, no more successful than us. We didn't win it, and I seriously doubt that they will either.
In my view you either need to win it or be able to believe that you can in the build up. They must all be thinking of this as a big day out and nothing more.
Now, if I didn't have something planned for tomorrow I would be tempted to go and sit in with the Wigan fans, then I'd really be looking forward to an FA Cup Semi Final, and I'd probably be coming home very happy too.
This year we wasted a massive opportunity, if we'd beaten Huddersfield our route would have been Leicester and then Wigan.
But then Everton in the QF at Goodison Park which would've most definitely been an upset... It's also the tie we would've faced had we beaten Orient in the LC in August.
Our last real chance of going further than the quarter finals was in 2007-08 when WBA knocked us out on penalties in the third round. The route would've been:
I'd forgotten it was happening to be honest. Was just thinking about our game at the weekend.
This, I cannot believe people are using the words Millwall, jealous and FA Cup in the same sentence. Unless clubs, managers and players start to take the FA Cup serious again it will go the same way as the League Cup. And let's be honest if they do start to take it serious again teams like us, Millwall, Wigan etc will never get to a Wembley final because it is the lack of interest from the big boys that allow semi finals like tomorrow to happen.
Not sure of the exact route but the year Parker left for Chelsea we got knocked out by Gillingham and would have met millwall(the year they got to the final) on the way and that was when we were decent in the Prem and would not have had one prem team to beat can anyone with a brain show the route we missed out on that season
Bottom line: If Charlton were in their position yes i would be very looking forward to it, although i agree the Semi's shoudnt be played @ Wembley but still it would be a good day out and something to shout about We are not playing so i couldn't care less, although if they get hammered it would be a bonus

I'd happily swap our season for theirs, you need a trip to the nut doctor if you wouldn't
People need to stop all this dick measuring with our attendances compared to theirs. Who gives a monkeys if for some games we manage to get 20k+, while millwall only get 12k at home to the same opposition. In terms of core support we're not that much bigger than millwall, we're just better at getting more people to home games than they are.
You support your team in hope for days like fa cup semis and finals, and the thought of getting results over you rivals. Millwall can look back in 10 years and say this was the season we had our run in the cup, while we just file 2012-13 as 'another season'.

I am not at all jealous, if I were a 'glory seeker' I would support Chelsea, Manchester United or whatever team were flavour of the minute. Our day will come !!!!

The voice of reason!
This!
But i'm happy with our season really. Last season was my season in the sun. The play-off season was great, but i went to more away games last season than any other and to see ONE defeat from 14 away, will take some beating! For me travelling is great fun. Winning away is the best feeling and us winning at wembley, having been there for a loss, was the best feeling EVER!
I wouldn't swap following Charlton for any other club. If i was the kind of supporter that did, i'd never have supported Charlton since the 70's. Jealous of smallwall, never, wishing we were at wembley again, absolutely!
With the amount of games that get played at Wembley nowadays and the somewhat bland feel about the stadium/atmosphere there, its not as appealing as it once used to be back at the old Wembley.
Would love a day out of course, but I don't feel as though it has the prestige anymore.
Ruined by the fact that the likes of Chelsea have had about 9 outings there since it opened in 2007.....and every single one of them has been a take it or leave it occasion for them. That's the FA Cup these days unfortunately....
Would I swap the greatest game back in 98 for a couple of play-offs & FA cup semi-final?! Would I F***! Let them have their moment. We've almost achieved what we set out for this season, so I'm happy as larry.

But I'd rather be at Wembley than Barnsley.
We'll be back there one day. Play off final next year? More likely than a cup run for us.
