Upbeats New Kit - Charlton Life Fundraising.

Having spoken to Carl Krauhaus who managers the Upbeats programme we have agreed that we'll aim to raise money for a new set of kits.

The Upbeats are currently wearing Macron kit and a number of new members have joined so there is a real need. The Upbeats will be buying kit alongside the Trust as they can get a bulk discount but they don't get them for free so any money we can raise will be a big help. And just like most kids the Upbeats want to be wearing the up-to-date kit.

A lot of you have been very generous in the way you have supported the Auctions and we've already raised over £400 that way with more auctions to come.

But some people, prompted by the "1000 - 1for play-off " thread http://forum.charltonlife.com/discussion/54656/1000-1-for-playoffs have asked if they can make a direct contribution.

If you want to add a few ££ to the fund then the easiest way to to it is to:

That is a general CACT account so we need to track payments and inform Rob Wood (their finance officer) to make sure the money goes to the Upbeats and not into a general fund.

Can you put "CL Ups your user name" in the reference so they can track it.

We all know times are hard so if people don't have any spare cash or prefer other worthy causes that is all fine.

    It is a project run by the CA Community Trust to help young people with Down's Syndrome.

    They meet and train weekly and play in Tournaments, very sucessfully, v other DS teams.

    As well as the football the project helps them socialise and helps their parents.

    Got talking to a woman in Asda a couple of weeks ago who was with her son (who had DS and was wearing a charlton shirt). Was surprised she didn't know anything about the upbeats, yet they're season ticket holders........

    Cheers Mr I, no idea what happened to his response. I'll give him another shout about the end of season session the Upbeats normally have. We need half a dozen volunteers to don the plimsols and take on the Upbeats at football. I'll be there as will Bailey and would love to play a few minutes. Suzi and Curb_it any chance you would be co-manageress?

    With Peanuts assistance a lot of people have done pretty well over the last few years.
    A small percentage of any winnings contributed would go quite a way syupporting a worthwhile cause.

    I dont think henry will know really unless the Trust give us a regular update. Its a shame really we could have all used my account and i would have given regular ones... from Ibiza.

    thanks Henry, is there a target so we can get kit for all of the Upbeats or is that a little too ambitious - I've no idea how much kit costs or how many of them need it??
