Greenwich Comedy Festival - No More

Very sad. Probably end up in Battersea Park or at the flaming Apollo Hammersmith.

It was a great few years, top comedians, lovely setting within the grounds of the Naval College and it wasn't too big. The intimacy and convenience of it made it special. Not clear really who has called this but looks like Greenwich Borough have dropped their support.

  • Your having a laugh, arn't ya?
  • No laughing matter.
  • That's a damn shame.

There's a good comedy club above The Crown in Blackheath every other Wednesday now. They've had some decent names: Arthur Smith, Isy Suttie (Peep Show) among others, but the thing that impressed me was the 'support' acts. Some really good stuff from new comedians that had been really well chosen by whoever's running it.
