The Germans are coming.

Just seen plans are being made to open a fans park to accommodate ticketless German fans coming over for the Champions League final. They are expecting 150,000 to turn up for the game with only 50,000 tickets split between them. Wow!

Even more impressive is that demand from Dortmund is expected to top 500,000.

Now that is an away following to give Oohaah more of a lift than an industrial sized box of viagra.

  • Nearly as big as Rangers.
  • Where will the fans park be? I expect the atmosphere would be fantastic.
  • I have a bloody wedding that day otherwise I'd be up for a day out in London mixing it up with the Dortmund fans. I really hope they win.
  • Fan park is over at Westfield Stratford
  • Couldn't the club get in on this and offer a beam-back at The Valley? Play it right and they could earn some money and win some friends.

But not quite as big as Sheffield Wednesday
  • I went to the fan park 2 years ago in Hyde Park. It was very similar to the sponsor's exhibitions at The Olympics which was disappointing, but you could have a photo with the trophy if you were prepared to queue for a while.

Good idea - it's another opportunity to agree another one of our super-successful youth development/loan first refusal deals with one of Europe's big boys.

Not bad when you consider the population of Dortmund is just under 600K and they have Schalke and Bochum in their catchment area.
