  • Matt Holland
  • Rommedahl, cleanest shorts ever!
  • Matt Holland was never quick enough for a 50/50 challenge. And the shorts!!!
  • Kinsella was the first name I thought of

Matt Holland never got his shorts dirty. Captain clean shorts. Fact.
  • Brian Kinsey -- never booked in a long career as a defender.
  • Per Mertesacker
  • I hesitate to say "cleanest player ever" as in 50 years plus of watching football I've probably forgotten a few!

However our own Chris Solly loves a tackle yet gets very few bookings in an age when referees are rather more card happy than in earlier eras.

Bobby Moore who has already been mentioned or Bobby Charlton and not forgetting our own Keith Peacock.

  • Alan Smith (Leicester & Arsenal)

    Claus Jensen

    Dennis Rommedahl
  • Dave Mackay the old Spurs player was meant to be hard as nails, but only ever booked a couple of times. (The Billy Bremner "round the scruff of the neck" incident being one)
  • Southgate is a pretty good role model for a modern footballer
  • Gary Lineker.

Lineker soiled his England shorts once.
  • Ledley King. He's only got one knee, he's better than John Terry, oh Ledley Ledley. 8 yellows 0 reds in his career.
  • Captain Cleanshorts Matt Holland.

Kins was a dirty git when he wanted to be

agreed ... but in those days if you kicked the centre forwards' head off and over the bar, the referee just might have a cautionary word.
