We started the season well and IMO, the poor officiating led to us losing some of our momentum at a key stage. The common statement in football is that it all evens itself out but I think this season, whilst we might have had the odd call go our way, we have definitely ended it significantly in arrears. Poor officials have almost certainly cost us a play off place (another two lost points against Boro, because the lino can't do the one thing he is on the pitch to do).
If you went through every game and looked at the poor and contentious calls, I reckon we would be 10+ points down. Hopefully this is just bad luck, and if things do even themselves out, we should have a few things go our way next season.
