    Remember what finally bankrupted Rome was the huge expenditure on games, bread and circuses for the idle and the unemployed .... There is a warning to the Premier League in there somewhere

    Blimey, this is quite deep for a discussion after 10pm , I guess you could replace the comment about the games with the modern version of the Olympics as a distraction from what's going on in the country.
